Value for money lunch buffet! Smile Mar 31, 2012

Was here for lunch buffet with my friends on a 'Monday Blue'. A really great way to release my stress to see the wide spread and great varieries of food. Hehe.

The first section i went was their sushi and sahimi counter. The sashimi was really fresh and delicious. And I was really surprised of the sushi that they served. It was nice! So much nicer than any other 5 or 6 stars buffet that i ever tried.

And love the cold cooked 'xia po'. It was very fresh, and can really taste the freshness and sweetness of the fresh xia po. Its yummy. The drunken prawn was really fresh too and the soup tasted yummy with nice herbal taste.

Love their dessert too , especially their ice-cream. It was really a much better buffet than some other 5 or 6 stars buffet. Highly recommended for their quality, variety and reasonable pricing.

Would definitely be back for their buffet! Perhaps their high tea buffet soon! smile

Oh by the way, most cards entitle for 15% discounts. So pls remember to use ur card!

Peanut Pancake Smile Mar 31, 2012

Have grabbed my favorite peanut pancake from Jollibean for my teabreak after some work.

The pancake was freshly made. It was rather thick, soft and chewy. And with a generous and thick serving of the peanut filling, It was really delicious and value for money! It cost only $1 per piece! Yummy.

Milk tea Smile Mar 31, 2012

I bought home my favorite bubble milk tea while running some errands at West Mall.

I always like the milky taste of their milk tea. It was not too sweet and not too bland. The sweetness level was just right for me. And really love their chewy pearls! And most importantly they were rather generous with their pearls. smile

Greenhouse @ The Ritz-Carlton Smile Mar 31, 2012

This is the second time i visited this place. The first time I was here was when my friend celebrated my birthday a few years ago, and this time round was celebrating a friend's birthday with a big group of friends.

Fresh oysters and sashimi were my favorite food, so usually i will 'focus' and target on these 2 dishes. Both the oyster and sashimi were fresh here which i really like! Which i ended up having 14 oysters - my highest record so far. haha.

Oh, not forgetting their desserts. I have tried most of the chocolate dessert, all were nice especially the chocolate fudge cake. The tiramisu was very nice too.

Hmm.. Although the food here is nice and fresh but i think the buffet here is rather pricey. So i think wont be here the 3rd time again, unless there is some kind of promotion. smile

Ootoya Smile Feb 24, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

This is a memorable dining moment for me because I have suggested to celebrate one of my friend's birthday at this Ootoya outlet. I have tried the outlets at clementi mall and suntec city, and i really like the food and ambience at both outlets. And was told by a friend that orchard central outlet was actually the best among the three outlets. So decided to try it out during my friend's birthday.

Since I was the one suggested this place, so I was there earlier to get the place first since reservation cant be made.

When we got our seat and our menus, I realised that Ootoya has a new menu. And there something new added in their menu: we can have Gokoku rice (mixed 5 grains steamed glutinous rice ) which can be replaced with white rice with no additional charges. Gokoku rice is a combination of brown rice, barley, black sesame, white sesame and corn which is suitable for everyone regardless of age and gender. it contains great vitamins, minerals and vegetable fibres that your body needs. Wow, this is really a much healtier option than white rice. And whats more, it can be refilled too!

I have ordered a Rosu set - whch is a breaded pork loin cutlet (tasty japan pork loin cutlet coated with fresh bread crumb) It was delicious but honestly it was not as good as i expected, the meat seem a bit dry for me, not that juicy. But overall, it was still rather nice. smile

My friend, the birthday boy has enjoyed his set very much too! And we were happily eating, chatting and 'refilling' our rice and cabbage salad! We were all quite big eater, especially me, have to eat 'tons' of rice! Hehe. smile

Oh ya, remember to use Standard Chactered Card if you have one to enjoy 15% discount when you are at Ootoya!
