Yummiest Ravioli in Singapore!  Smile May 02, 2013

This little quaint cafe is one of the many gems that still remain undiscovered. I haven't seen many people visiting it, nor many photos of it. Perhaps because of its price, because it was rather pricey, but it comes at a justified cost.

I ordered the white truffle ravioli, and expected perhaps a little more than the usual standards, because of its price. But it was all worth it. The pasta was cooked just right, and the filling within was impeccably delicious! It was a fine mixture of truffles, cream and some type of garnish which brought out the fragrance of it all. Every bite was a little piece of heaven!

Their desserts were good too, but most of all, its the sort of place where you want to enjoy a slow brunch with your girlfriends and talk for hours. I love it that there wasn't too many people so there is no pressure to finish your meal and leave! Nope. This is a great place to chill and have those good long catch-ups.

The waiters were really friendly as well, always refilling our cups with a smile, and they never attempted to pressure us to leave.

Lovely place, great food, I highly recommend it!

If you love your burgers big, you'll love chilis. This is by far my favourite American franchise in Singapore. Okay, this and Tony Romas.

See, no other restaurants serve their burgers this big, and I love em big! The more fillings, the more meat, the better! This is definitely a burger that burger lovers will love!

My standard order is the Southern Smokehouse Bacon burger, because who can resist bacon & onion rings in their burgers?! And they hardly do this anywhere else. Apart from their fantastic burger, they load the whole basket full of fries. I often skip lunch when I know there is a dinner at Chili's, because how else are you supposed to finish this giant of a burger with that bed of fries!

If you're going with a big group, order their bottomless tostidos with salsa, its thin and crispy, just the way I like it. Plus, the salsa is refillable too.

And only for those with a huge appetite, definitely do not miss out on their molten chocolate cake. It is a fantastic cherry on top of a perfectly good meal! Don't attempt to finish it on your own though, the chocolate is really rich, and two spoons will make you quite sick. Desserts are always meant to be shared. smile

My favourite outlet is the one in RWS, only because there are stores still opened after dinner for you to wander around. The shops around Tanglin were closed once we were done with dinner, so we had no choice but to wander off to the more crowded area of town. sad Definitely opt for the one in RWS!

There are just some afternoons when the weekend has gone by too quickly, and I just want to get away from the buzz and people. This is where I shut myself off from the world and enjoy some me time.

Of all the canele outlets, this is by far my favourite, because it is out of the way. Its not impossible to get here, but most people would opt for the more convenient outlets, which is why the crowd isn't that crazy here. I can at least hear the music & enjoy my book without getting distracted by unintentional evesdropping of the table beside me.

This time, I decided to give their tiramisu a go. The spongey bits soaked up the flavourful coffee syrup, and it was a perfect balance between being too soggy vs. being too dry. If you simply must get fabulously good cake, go to canele. smile

The other thing I love so much about canele is their macarons. I never fail to buy some home for the family, and their vibrant colours are too tempting to leave without getting any.

Best all-day breakfast!  Smile Apr 19, 2013

Anytime anyone asks me for a recommendation for a breakfast place, I would definitely recommend wild honey. Unfortunately, they have a no reservation policy the last time I was there, so the wait for a table for 2 took us 45 minutes on a Saturday morning.

I love the layout of the place because nothing matches, and we got the sofa seat that faced the entrance, which was slightly awkward, but still, the tables were separated well enough for you to feel like you're in a cafe, yet you have your own personal space. It is difficult to describe in words, but I'm pretty sure if you've been there, you would understand what I'm saying.

The food took another half an hour to arrive, but no complaints in that area. It was perfect and absolutely delicious! The mushrooms were sauteed to the right level of buttery, the bacon, sausage and toast were a great combination!

It was both filling and very satisfying. I will definitely be back to try their other offering on the menu because I was so spoilt for choices while staring at the menu.

Lunch @ The Greenhouse Smile Apr 03, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Multi-Cuisine | Hotel | Restaurant | Buffet

This is the perfect gift for a 21st birthday present- a dining voucher for 2 to lunch @ Greenhouse. The buffet lasted for 3 hours, which was more than enough time to sample nearly everything they had to offer.

Although I would admit this is not the top of my list for buffets, it definitely made it to top 5. chopstick

For seafood lovers, the free flow of crabs and sweet prawns would definitely make your day. Although the promise of oysters wasn't fulfilled during my visit. Still, it was fresh and well-supplied.

It boasted of an international buffet, but it had the usual carving table, standard Asian rice and noodle dishes, the seafood bar, sushi bars and interesting appetizer dishes.
My favorite was the strawberry sushi, which honestly didn't taste as good as it looks, but plus points for fancy presentation definitely.
Seafood galore

Apart from that, my favorite part of the buffet were the desserts. They definitely went all out for this one.

Once again, nothing extraordinary but plus points for presentations. They served up an Earl Grey Creme Brulee which got my hopes up, but turned out to be disappointing so I shall not post photos of that. Still, I was spoilt for choices at the dessert table, and am glad to say I did have a taste of everything from the dessert table.

They also had a cheese section, which I don't really see very often, and they took the effort to ensure that the cheeses did not appear too stale-looking, which was good. Service was impeccable, had the waiter come over at least ten times to check on us. Our cups never ran dry.
