Jones the Grocer must be one of the most crowded Brunch places around town. The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon.

Had the scones with jam and butter. Love it! The scone was warm and the melting butter in between the scones accompanied by jam was simply marvelous. Sweet, salty and fatty.

This is my friend's ham sandwich. Didnt look appetizing to me.

This is my smoked salmon eggs benedict. My ideal eggs benedict must always have be accompanied with smoke salmon

The buffet spread was pretty good, they have the typical japanese food spread, many varieties of salmon as you can see from the photos. Many different variations of salmon sashimi. Unfortunately my buffet strategy was left in disarray when i polish up this plate of salmon. I felt a little sick after the many slices of salmon. Moral of the story, eat salmon in moderation, no matter how much you love the little red fish. Besides raw salmon, they had grilled salmon head, salmon porridge, salmon miso soup. Omega 3 overload it what you get here. For dinner we paid about $35 in total excluding drinks. If you are into desserts, the dessert spread was however very disappointing.

I have to say this is certainly a wonderful plate of dry hand made noodles. It is absolutely delicious and its choke full of ingredients too! Although it has been a few months since i last had this, I still crave for it once in a while. Maybe I should go try to soup version soon. The noodles are cooked al dente, the mince pork is very well marinated. Comes with a pretty looking egg, 2 fried wantons, lots of veggies and finally topped with some ikan bilis. NICE!

east meets west Smile Jul 28, 2012

Pepperoni was close so no choice had to walk across the road to great world city for pizza. Overall I am not a fan of skinny pizza as the name suggest, it is a little bit too skinny, I prefer the pizza base with more bite, more chewy and more substance. Not so skinny and crispy.
Anyhow the toppings for the pizzas was quite generous as you can see from the photo. This is the interesting English Breakfast Pizza with rocket leaves, bacon, tomato and a sunny side up egg, really seems like an English breakfast meal.

The squid ink risotto was not bad, quite tasty.

Mushroom soup was thick, creamy and mushroomy

This is some Chicken curry or chicken tikka / masala pizza, pretty unique too. Like the spices in the pizza. East meets West.

sinfully delicious Smile Jul 27, 2012

This is sinfully delicious, oily, fried, crispy and juicy! Very yummy especially when taken with the yellow mustard. I love it especially how the pork retains its juiciness despite being thoroughly fried. The cabbage at the sides proves to be refreshing for the meal, it takes off the jerlatness. Very welcoming indeed. Most people stick to eating the tonkutsu, but we decided that we should also try something else instead.

This is the unagi roll that we orded, it is pretty good too!
