Lunch Smile Oct 19, 2012

Categories : Irish | Bars/Lounges

Came here to try their set lunch which is $9.80 nett. This is quite cheap as compared to many other places nearby. The set lunch includes a drink, a soup and a main (there are a few choices available to choose from.

I ordered the chicken cutlet with hot sauce. The portion was enormous. The chicken was fried perfectly and the meat was tender. The hot sauce was a bit salty though. It was a satisfying meal and definitely worth the price tag. The place is also quite empty during lunch time, so if you want to avoid the lunch time crowd, you could choose to have a meal here!

Curry rice Smile Oct 14, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Curries

There's a range of curry to choose from here. There's the original curry, creamy curry and 2 more. I've tried the original curry. I think I'll try the creamy one the next time! You could also choose the spicy level from non-spicy to hot spicy! Since I wasn't too sure about their spicy level, I tried the medium one, which wasn't spicy at all!!

I ordered the seafood omelette curry rice ($13.80). The serving of the seafood was quite generous. What I didn't like was that the salad came together with the curry rice. The salad dressing was mixed with the curry sauce which was a bit weird. Other than that, I enjoyed the food here smile

Bak Kut Teh Smile Oct 14, 2012
Categories : Food Court | Bak Kut Teh

Located in an air conditioned food court at MBS, the price is quite reasonable. A bowl of prime ribs bak kut teh cost around $7 and the additional you tiao is $1 a plate. The soup is refillable too! So remember to sit near the stall if you're planning to drink up all the soup!

The soup has a very strong peppery taste as compared to other bak kut teh stalls. The meat was really soft and tender. The meat could be easily separated from the bone. It's a perfect match with the dark soya sauce!!

Desserts Smile Oct 08, 2012

Have been wanting to try the desserts from NYDC! And it didn't disappoint me. This place is really quiet and good for people-watching. A great place to spend the afternoon. I ordered the boo-boo, first pic ($6.80) and a cheesecake ($7.80). Both cakes are really delicious. Boo-boo is a chocolate cake, which is really chocolately and sweet. The chocolate is really thick, so it's definitely worth the money. If you don't like sweet stuff, I would highly recommend the cheesecake. There's a piece of chocolate at the base of the cake, which is a surprise when you're eating it. The taste is much lighter than boo-boo.

I've also ordered the milk tea ($5), but I don't think it's worth the money. There was hardly any taste of tea in it. The drink was really bland. Will try other drinks the next time!

Great place for brunch Smile Oct 07, 2012

Headed to food for thought for brunch! As the place was really full, there were only outside seats. Love the ambience of the place, which is a perfect place for brunch. I ordered the Full works which costs around $18. The servings are really generous!

I love the food there. The sausage was just fried and it's not hard but tender. It's also not too salty and perfect eating it alone or matching it with the scrambled eggs. The sauteed mushroom was really good and it's one of the best I've eaten so far. I would love to try the desserts the next time!
