Tried their buffet dinner. As it was a friday night, it costed around $23.99++. Since it was a buffet, we took many items. But the best item is still the salmon sushi. The buffet also can order one red plate and one pink plate. So I ordered the lobster salad maki and the hana maki (salmon sushi with mayo). The salmon for the hana maki doesn't seem to be fresh. The lobster salad maki was good. There was a tinge of wasabi in the maki, which makes it very refreshing.

The service was quite bad. Often, there seems to be no one to serve you. And even when you asked the staff something, like asking where's the dish that you ordered, they didn't bother checking with the kitchen and just replied that they are preparing it now. I don't think I would return here because of the service.

Unlike other cafes which has a theme more related to the western side, this cafe has a old-school theme. From the blackboard where teachers used to the old-school games provided, this cafe definitely brings you back into time. The menu looks like an exercise book and the ordering system is through writing on a white board that they give. A really unique ordering method. While waiting, you could look into the toy box located on your table! There's five stones, snake and ladder and even those 'countries' erasers. The menu is quite limited with about 8 main dishes to order from. Most of this dishes are local delights ranging from mee siam to nasi lemak to curry chicken. I ordered the nasi lemak. The rice was nice with a strong coconut taste. But the price is definitely not worth it for a plate of nasi lemak. The only thing that I like is the Sticky Chewy Chocolate cake. When it is served, it is warm. The cake has a slight taste of banana which brings out its flavour. The cake isn't overly sweet so it's possible for one person to finish a whole slice of cake by themselves.Perhaps I will return to try the other dishes available. But for now, with the range of food that it serves, the food are slightly over-priced.

Ordered a stuffed crust pizza and the topping was ocean catch. When the pizza was served, it wasn't hot. It was just warm. Maybe this isn't a pan pizza so the pizza was cooled down faster. The pizza may have been in the oven for a little too long, as the crust was hard when I bite it. The stuffed crust is supposed to be softer since there's cheese inside. But the hard crust makes it very difficult to enjoy the stuffed crust. But I still like the topping and the cheese stuffing!

The service of the staff was also quite slow and frequently there wasn't any one around to take orders or ask for bill.

Went to Swensen's on a weekday afternoon. The service was really slow even though there seems to be very little customers. The place seems to be short-handed. Ordered a soup, a salmon and mushroom baked rice and a cookie summit. The soup was bland. (Had to add salt myself) I've tried other outlets soup before, but it wasn't bland like this. Perhaps I was just unlucky. The salmon and mushroom baked rice had a more overpowering taste. The chef might have put too much sauce with the baked rice coz I don't feel like I'm eating rice at all.

Out of the three, the one that I love the most is the cookie summit. Nothing can go wrong with this dessert as the ice cream was prepared long ago. I love the chocolate-coated cherry which was on top of the whole sundae.

I think for many, the main highlight for cafe cartel is the barbecued ribs. So I decide to go try it. When it was served, the meal looks impressive. The meat looks juicy. However, after the first bite, I immediately regret it. The meat is dry and hard to bite. This is especially so for the meat that is on the outside. Those in the middle are relatively ok. I like the sauce that came with the ribs though. But I won't try this again.
