Bak Kut Teh Smile Sep 27, 2012
Categories : Bak Kut Teh

This restaurant recently opened at Changi Business Park. The restaurant is quite small, so be prepared to queue especially during lunch hour. This is my first time trying this place even though I heard that it's quite good. The dishes range from $6 - $8, which is a reasonable price for bak kut teh. The waitress would bring all the dishes in a tray, so if you're ordering more food, ask for a bigger table.

I ordered the pork rib soup ($6.80). The soup is tasty but it's not too spicy. I think they should have added more pepper. Their serving is quite generous, with 3 pieces of meat in each bowl. They cooked the meat long enough so it's really soft when you bite it.

Buffet OK Sep 15, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Tried their buffet dinner. As it was a friday night, it costed around $23.99++. Since it was a buffet, we took many items. But the best item is still the salmon sushi. The buffet also can order one red plate and one pink plate. So I ordered the lobster salad maki and the hana maki (salmon sushi with mayo). The salmon for the hana maki doesn't seem to be fresh. The lobster salad maki was good. There was a tinge of wasabi in the maki, which makes it very refreshing.

The service was quite bad. Often, there seems to be no one to serve you. And even when you asked the staff something, like asking where's the dish that you ordered, they didn't bother checking with the kitchen and just replied that they are preparing it now. I don't think I would return here because of the service.

Since I had tried their la mian the last time I went there, I decided to try something different this time. I ordered their minced meat rice which they called it eggy rice ($6.50). The portion is really small and it was a bit salty. I also ordered a few dishes to go with it. The smoked duck ($8.80) was quite good. Instead of serving it cold like many appetizers, the restaurant serves it warm with seasonal vegetables. What I really like was the Hakka salted pork ($9.80), which is second in the picture. The meat and the fat proportion is just nice so it is very soft. It isn't too salty and perfect with rice.

Lunch Smile Sep 13, 2012

Came here during lunch time. This place is much quieter compared to the other restaurants across the street. It's a great place if you want to have a quiet lunch. During lunch time, there's set lunch available for you to choose from. There's even a choice of a lighter portion or a regular portion, with the price being cheaper for the light portion. I tried their seafood aglio olio. All set lunches come with a soup. The soup of the day when I went was cream of mushroom! There were many mushroom pieces in the soup.

The serving of the pasta is really generous. It was served with two pieces of mussels and lots of prawns and squids. At the price of $9.90 per set (excluding service charge and GST), this is really worth it!

Supper Smile Sep 11, 2012

This is a good place for supper if you can find seats. Despite having seats on two stories and in the alley, the place is still bustling with people. Ordered few pieces of you tiao and beancurd and a cup of soya bean milk. The beancurd is not really good as I've tried better ones before. The soya bean milk was good, especially in a warm weather. All of the dishes gave a very healthy feeling as the you tiao wasn't too oily despite being deep fried. And I think they regularly change the oil coz it tasted good! smile The soya bean milk and the beancurd wasn't too sweet either. Each costs $1, which is considered cheap in the city! The you tiao also costs $1 per piece but it tastes so good that you won't mind eating more!! smile
