Hot Pot Smile Aug 15, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | BBQ

This hot pot restaurant has many different choices to choose from. You can choose the type of soup base that you want which is either sukiyaki or shabu-shabu. I prefer the sukiyaki soup base as it is sweet. The range of meat isn't very wide but the meat are fresh. My favourite would be the marble pork. You can also choose either rice or udon to go with your meal.

There are also many other things in the soup such as vegetables, mushrooms, bean curd and noodles. However, the ventilation in the restaurant is not very good, so prepare to smell like steamboat after eating.

Tom Yum Hor Fun OK Aug 11, 2012
Categories : Thai

Tried their Tom Yum Hor Fun for the first time. It's more spicy than I have initially expected. Do not be deceive by the innocent looks of the tom yum hor fun, as it is actually quite spicy. The hor fun was over-fried, leaving a burnt aftertaste which is quite unpleasant. The prawn wasn't fresh too. I only ended up having one prawn. Overall, it's quite a unique twist to the ordinary hor fun but I would not try this dish again.

FIsh Head Curry Smile Aug 11, 2012

Tried their fish head curry. Their curry is more of assam style. It's a bit sour and spicy at the same time. When you try this dish, you should have it with rice or bread (if you're opting for a lighter choice). The fish head curry here is also much cheaper than many other places that I've tried before. The fish head curry cost $25 and an extra $1 if you're taking it out. And the fish head is both sides, which means plenty of meat for 4 people to share.

Baby Crayfish Pasta Smile Aug 08, 2012

I went there during Sunday, but it's quite quiet. The ambience is really relaxing and there's not much traffic. The perfect place to relax on a Sunday. Ordered the marble cheese coffee, which was really unique. It first tasted like normal coffee, then the after-taste of the cheese will take over the coffee taste. The baby crayfish pasta is one of my favourite pasta now. They are really generous with the baby crayfish and the wasabi roe. However, they may have sprinkled too much wasabi roe as the taste of the wasabi dominates the whole dish. If you don't like wasabi, do remind the staff to remove the roe for you.

The seafood aglio olio is average. Another dish that I like from here is the marble cheesecake. The base of the cheesecake is chocolate. With the cheese, it leaves a long lasting taste. Even though the price is a bit steep, it's a great place to relax on a Sunday afternoon

Ginseng chicken soup Smile Aug 08, 2012

The ginseng chicken soup is a must-try for this restaurant. The broth is tasty. Even though there's glutinous rice in the soup, they matched it with a bowl of brown rice. This makes it perfect for sharing. It also comes with 4 side dishes. The kimchi is slightly salty but it's ok when you eat it together with the rice.

Another highlight is the kimchi fried rice. The kimchi taste is just nice. This dish is also quite large and can be shared between 2 people. If you're looking for something that is spicy, you should try the dobokki. (Spicy rice cake).
