Pizza baked in Woodfire Oven  Smile Nov 23, 2012

Categories : Italian | Pasta

The interior of the Pizzeria L'Operetta restaurant with a beautiful picture of a Church on the wall.

The Woodfire Oven - according to the staff, the wood burning inside is wood from Orange Trees.

A big brown vase as a decor piece..gives the impression of a Large Chocolate Fondue~

Part of the Lunch Set is a plate of nice salad with generous cheese & corn toppings. A set comprises a pizza, a salad & a drink - $20++

Panna E Funghi - Cream sauced pizza with mozzarella, mushrooms, basil and parmesan. The sides of the pizza is slightly crispy and has a chewy texture. Great pizza with lots of mushroom and melted cheese.

Margherita Con Melanzane - Tomato sauced pizza with eggplants, basil and parmesan. Love the tomato base!

Pizzeria L'Operetta Restaurant - The Woodfire Oven being the centre piece is eyecatching and that was what attracted me to try this restaurant. It was a restaurant with a nice ambience and delicious pizzas.

Hifumi Restaurant at Plaza Singapura - Order a Japanese Set & you can help yourself to the "all you can eat appetizer bar". A good spread of appetizers - Fried Eggplant with Radish sauce, Tofu Gratin with Japanese Pepper, Vegetable Cheese Fondue, Rice Crackers, Fruit Cocktails etc. Oh yes, they have small cups of steamed eggs (Chawan Mushi) too. For beverages, @ $1.99 you can enjoy a free flow of drinks ranging from soft drinks to tea and coffee. Customers are not limited to one kind of beverage but can drink whatever they like\^0^/.

Tartar Potato Salad with Ebiko (appetizer bar)- Thick chunks of potatoes topped with fish roe~nice!

Roasted Onions with butter & soy sauce (appetizer bar). Big slices of onions well seasoned - a delight for onion lovers.

Fried Sweet Potato Sticks coated with syrup(appetizer bar) which gives it a sticky texture. Nice fragant sweet potato taste...simply delicious!

Pumpkin and Walnut Salad (appetizer bar) - Mashed pumpkin with its natural sweetness and topped with wolfberries. A nice & healthy salad indeed!

Bara Chirashi Sushi Set - Steamed Rice topped with slices of salmon, prawns , fish & eel. A generous helping of fish roe and some cubes of sweet steamed eggs. ($17.99)

Katsu Curry Set - The Pork Cutlet was lean and tasty. The curry gravy was expected to be thick but it was a bit watery as compared to some Japanese curries served at other restaurants. Nevertheless it tasted good but would be nicer if the gravy was thicker. ($13.99)

Chicken Itame Set - Fried Chicken pieces with lotus slices and vegetables served with rice & miso soup. The chicken was tender and juicy. ($14.99)

A1 Congee - a variety of congee choices

Signature Dishes - Hongkong Style Porridge艇子粥& Hot Plate Tofu

Looks a simple bowl of Claypot Porridge, but once you dip your spoon into it, you can discover sea treasures~ fish slices, cuttle fish skices. The porridge is very smooth and tasty. You do not need to add any soya sauce to it, the taste is just right and the porridge is hot to the last spoonful. $5.90 a bowl.

At Japanese Restaurants, they used to serve the Bonito Flake shavings. At this Ramen Shop, the Bonito Flakes are in powdered form. Try sprinkling them on the noodle or on the eggs, it's tasty!

Sesame seeds provided with a mini pounder to pound them to a powdery form. Get occupied with this before your noodle arrives. The pounded sesame gives out a fragrant sesame aroma!

Pickled Beansprouts in a light sauce. A slight tinge of sourness - great as an appetizer.

Black Spicy Chicken Noodle. The soup is thick and tasty with black fungus and spring onions garnishes. The chicken is very tender and well seasoned. $12.90 per bowl. Additional charges apply if you wish to have a flavoured egg or a large piece of seaweed topping.

Green Spicy Chicken Noodle with a wisp of wasabi lining the chicken drumstick. Wasabi.. the impression of something hot which gets up the nose and there you are fully alert ^0-. No..the wasabi here is mild and when you stir it into the soup, it simply blends well with the soup making it even tastier with a mild wasabi taste. $12.90 per bowl.

Complimentary eggs for customers. While waiting for the noodles to be served, customers can help themselves to the eggs. Try sprinkling the Bonito Flake Powder on the egg...Nice!

The decor of the shop - traditional Japanese ambience. Feel like you are in a noodle shop in Japan.Chicken King as the banner states. This shop specializes in Chicken Noodles. Another outlet at Tras Link, Orchid Hotel #01-19 (which I have written a review before) specializes in Pork Noodles. One thing I like about this Ramen Shop is that we really can have a say in how we want our noodles to be cooked- Noodle to be hard, soft or normal, oil level - no oil, less oil or normal. Customers in the queue are given slips of papers to state their choice of noodles, the way they want the noodles to be cooked, choice of toppings etc. Once you are inside the shop, no need to spend time browising the menu, just enjoy their pickles and eggs, pounding the sesame seeds while waiting for the main dish to be served.

Korean Bakery ~ Paris Baguette Smile Oct 25, 2012

Categories : Korean | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes | Burgers and Sandwiches | Salads/ Acai Bowl

At the entrance of the bakery, you can see a display of Bottled Puddings with some small cute cows decor.
A novelty way to bottle the pudding.

An array of cakes which is so irresistable. The cakes look like sweet art pieces!

Softness White Bread - Bought this long white bread twice! It has a light sweet taste and you can really taste the nice flour taste of bread! Like the softness of this bread. $5.50 per roll. There is a bread displayed on top of this White Bread...Monkey Bread..what an interesting name! Will definitely try it and give my review another round.

Crispy Cheese Stick - It has a rich cheese taste but when I had it, it is no longer crispy. Perhaps if it is eaten freshly baked out of the oven, it should be really crispy and nice. $2.00 per stick

An assortment of berry pastries which will be my next order when I visit the bakery. Haven't tried though but it looks promising...should be yummy!

A bright ambience, and a bakery filled with so many delicious pastries, bread, cakes etc. There are many seats within the shop and is indeed a good place to be in for a relaxing tea time savouring the nice pastries there.

Apple Pastry - This is really nice! The pastry crust is crispy and there is a generous serving of apple chunks. The apple is not too sweet and has a tinge of sourness which gives the pastry a refreshing taste. $3.50 per piece

The shape of this pastry tells..like UFO...and this piece is called Flying UFO. It has a rich egg taste and it is crispy at the sides with a soft centre. $2.60 per piece.
