"Ang Mor" Style Western Food Smile Jan 16, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Coffeeshop | Steaks and Grills

The Food
I ordered the BBQ chicken chop. When the food was served to me, I was shocked as the portion is so big !!! lol
The BBQ sauce is nice and generous portion combined with the tender and juicy chicken thigh meat. Every piece of meat simply melted in my mouth. The fries is crispy and garlic bread was well toasted and has a strong garlic taste which i liked it very much.
I also noticed there are broccoli, carrot and cabbage which makes it a nice side dish also

The Service
I was given a number tag once i ordered hence no need to wait in the queue. The waiting time is also quite short hence acceptable.

The Ambience
Although the stall is in a coffeeshop, i find that the place was well-ventilated and not stuffy.

The Price
Best Value for money at $6 to enjoy a "Ang Mor" portion and restaurant style western food !!

Overall
I will definitely come back again to try other varieties and highly recommended to try this!

Categories : Seafood | Zi Char

Being a passion Tze Char lover & after see the contest on OpenRice on this restaurant, I decided to try with my family on Sunday evening. There are quite a couple of Zi Char restaurants there and finally managed to find it after some searching. As we came early at 5.30pm, the restaurant was quite empty.

The Food

Cereal Prawns

When they served the Cereal Prawns first, I was surprised that there was egg yolk cooked with the prawns because this is the 1st time I ever eat combined with egg yolks. shocked
It was a perfect combination as the saltiness of the egg yolk complemented the prawn which made it less dry and more juicy.
The prawns were also fresh and the shell could be easily peeled off which made it easier to eat without using my hands !! lol

Sweet & Sour Pork

A traditional Jiangsu dish which can be found at every Tze Char restaurant. What I like about this sweet & sour pork is that it is very crispy, tender and when matched with sweetness from sugar and a salty sour taste from the ketchup and rice vinegar, give a sudden "adrenaline" boost to my brain !!

Seafood White Bee Hoon

The soft bee hoon is coated with thick and rich mouthwatering gravy and served with generous toppings of fried egg and seafood. The prawns and sotongs were very fresh and is not over-cooked. The Chef have controlled the heat well when cooked the seafood.

The Service
The service is good as we were ushered to an empty table promptly as soon as we step into the restaurant and the waitress take our orders with a cheerful and friendly smile

The Ambience
The place is fully air-conditioned with nice decors and surroundings.
Good for Family get-together dinner !!

The Price
The prices are quite low and affordable which range from $10 to $20 for meat dishes, $15 to $30 for cereal prawn and only $8 for the large size bee hoon !!

Overall
I will definitely come back again and certainly didn't mind travelling all the way from Ang Mo Kio to Sembawang to try all the different dishes.
It was a satisfied & most memorable "Tze Char" experience for me. Come down and try it for yourself too!! tongue

Dining with Penang Feel  Smile Nov 05, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Noodles | Rice

Ever since I went to Penang's Gurney Drive few years ago, I have been searching for the best Penang food until one day my friends recommend me Singapore very own "Gurney Drive" at Suntec City. Hence I decided one day to try the Penang food with my friends

The Food
I ordered the house specialties, Penang Fried Kuay Teow ($6.90), Penang Assam Laksa ($5.90) and not to be missed, Penang Rojak ($4.20) and Penang Chendol. I really enjoyed the food here because the chef come from Penang hence after eating, remind me of the "Penang" feel many years ago. The Penang Fried Kuay Teow is not too oily and the prawns were very fresh. As for the Penang Assam Laksa, the thick bee hoon is imported from Penang and is springy!! Lastly, the Penang chendol with fresh coconut milk with special brown sugar syrup refreshes my throat and complete my dinner

The Service
Although my friends and I have to wait outside due to long queue but the waitress were prompt and politely tell us to wait for a moment. My friends and I were ushered into the restaurant after a reasonable time, and they immediately responded whenever we have any requirements like pouring the ice water for us

The Ambience
Although inside is crowded but is a suitable place for chatting with friends as we were sitting in a corner which gave us the sense of privacy. The noise level was still acceptable for a crowded place

The Price
Reasonably priced without going to Penang at all to taste authentic Penang food tongue

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly receommended to try this restaurant! I really had a wonderful time and satisfied experience of the food and place !! smile

Crispy Carrot Cake Smile Jan 13, 2014
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre

I ordered a plate of crispy carrot cake at $3. The portion is quite generous and the carrot cake & eggs smell very nice and looks nice too! This stall serves carrot cake in generous portion of eggs and main focus is the crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The owner even set up stall during the Singapore Expo Food festival but the price is much more expensive. I rather buy & eat at hawker center. Even though there is a long queue when I ordered during weekends but I waited for about 10 mins hence their service is quite fast! As for the chilli, taste normal to me. I prefer to eat without the chilli as I can taste the original version of carrot cake ! Overall, is a must try for all crispy carrot cake lovers! lol
