Everybody loves healthy filling food, and salad stop has recently opened a more affordable version of their salads and wraps at the food loft of Marina Bay Financial Towers.

Eversince I discovered this place, I have gone back a number of times, because not only is it healthier than the other choices of food anywhere, it is also delicious!

I am particularly in love with their flavore: Yakitory Story

You can change the compnents from Rice to vegetables instead if you really are on a diet, but whether it is rice or veg the flavor just explodes in my mouth and makes me forget that I am actually eating a healthy meal.

Also, for just an additional $2.50 your meal can become a combo, with a glass of lemonade and the soup of the day, I have tried the pumpkin soup and it was also filling and delicious.

They not only have pre-prepared flavors of wraps and salads, you can DIY, or make your own combinations!

I will definitely recommend Switch to all my friends for healthier, good tasting wraps and salads.

A little bit of Western Cry Oct 17, 2012

We have planned for this lunch for a few days, because eating out on a restaurant is always an event for our family. My husband, my daughter and myself were all dressed up when we went to visit new york new york in Marine parade, as we wanted to appear presentable for such a good looking place.

We were welcomed by our waiter and we were seated as soon as we arrived, which is really great. We looked at their menu and decided to order A Salad, Roast Chicken, and fish and chips for our daughter.

My daughter then suddenly spotted the cotton candy machine in the corner and asked me if we can have one, the waiter just nearby and waiting for our orders said that we can have a free cotton candy for our daughter anytime after the meal. Which is just great for our daughter. It was a welcomed surprise as my daughter loved cotton candies

Our order arrived within 10 -15 minutes and we were ready to dig in, it all looked really great.
Caesar Salad

Caesar Salad

The Salad was okay, it was a bit lacking in dressing, so we asked for a little bit more from the waiter. We were given a generous amount shortly after. The salad dressing in caesar flavor was a bit disappointing to me, my husband liked it though, he likes anything that has lettuce in it. The flavor seems off from what I remember of what a Caesar Sauce should taste like, but I still went ahead and ate as much as I could.
Roast Chicken

Roast Chicken

Time for the Roast Chicken, It smelled heavenly and the presentation was impeccable, but the taste is a bit bland and the chicken was dry, and overcooked. I'm sure though that with a little bit more seasoning and a little less time in the oven this roast chicken would have been amazing.
Fish Fillet

Fish Fillet

The Fish and chips was the most disappointing part of our meal, as it was for our daughter, I figured fish and chips would be the safest choice, children loves anything deep fried and served with fries, but I was wrong. The Fish Fillet was a bit too oily and the taste of the fish was as though it was no longer fresh, my daughter refused to eat it, so we ended up buying her a burger in mcdonalds after the meal.

The cotton candy was the bit my daughter enjoyed so much, but we have no intentions of coming back to the restaurant again. It was just a little bit too disappointing for its price.

Fine Eat! OK Oct 17, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

My husband and I are very excited when it comes to Japanese food, we love their cooked sushi rolls and their ramens and their rice dishes, I think most Japanese food are amazing.

So in our Journey to finding a place to eat, My husband and I decided to eat at Ajisen Ramen during our 5th year marriage anniversary! It is a pretty big deal for us!

We came across Ajisen Ramen as we were strolling Plaza Singapura, and waiting for out movie showing. We had time to kill so we decided that our anniversary dinner will be spent eating at a Japanese Restaurant. I think we had such high expectations when we sat down.

We ordered their Char Siew Ramen and a side order of their California Rolls, because I love them!

The food came in no time at all, the service was great, except the attending waitress and waiters kept shouting "Welcome to Ajisen Ramen" when anyone comes close enough to their entry way. Which made me feel like I was in a Fast Food joint.

We tasted the Ramen and the California Rolls and we were not awed. It was just Ordinary, the taste of the california roll seemed lacking, as if something was missing. The Ramen was okay, but not something that I would crave for, in other terms, I've had better.

It is not bad, its just that they don't have the wow factor for me. I might go back to Ajisen Ramen some other day, but it is not a place that I would go out of my way for. It is a place I can recommend to my friends, if we are looking for a place to eat, and the restaurant is just there.

Affordable Delight Smile Oct 17, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Food Court

Kopitiam at Singpost is always the place to go for me, most especially when there is no occasion and I am not craving for most of my favorite food.

The place I visit the most in this place is Mini Wok, who serves a variety of Rice toppings and Stir Fried noodles and Horfun.

Their location may bot be as homey since it is at a food court but the food is great, it is cheapr than most restaurants and is definitely filling.

The Chicken Chop Horfun is one of the best meal I have had in Mini Wok, it is so big and filling and can shared by 2 persons. Most of their dishes are.

Some of the other delightful dishes that I have had the privilege to taste in Mini Wok is their Sweet and Sour Pork, which is more on the sweet side, but still good, although you might feel a little tired of the sweetness after a while. Their orange chicken is also amazing, the sweet and citrus flavor compliments the chicken and has a bit of spiciness. They also have Kung Pao chicken which is a bit similar to sweet and sour pork in taste but the Kung Pao chicken is a lot spicier. They also offer some non spicy dishes such as the basil chicken, and onion chicken which my daughter loves since she is not very keen on spicy food. They also have a variety of stir fried noodles that I am yet to try, They have the pepper chicken cutlet which is ultimately spicy and delicious! But what my husband and I love the most like I said is their Horfun, which is offered in 2 ways, the soup type and the stir fried hor fun and you can choose between Beef or Chicken Chops.

I love going to this place because they cook your food upon order, unlike some that has the food already sitting on the display, and it is always hot and is topped with a sunny side up egg, and some fresh vegetables (Sliced tomatos, cucumber and Lettuce).

I have kept coming back to this place and definitely recommend any hungry Openricers who are in the mood for variety and savings to drop by Mini Wok when you can't thaink of a place to eat when you are in Paya Lebar.

Swissbake Counter

Swissbake

Swissbake

My husband and I like the coziness and the friendliness of Swiss Bake in Marina Bay. We often eat the Ham and Cheese Croissant in this place, and it is extremely good! I have tried a number of different sandwiches as well such as the smoked chicken, and I must say I have never been disappointed with the taste of their food, but what we usually go back for in swissbake is the variety of dessert that they offer.

We have fallen in love with their chocolate roll, at $1 each and a 10% discount if you are a standard chartered card holder (employee or bank client), it is definitely one of the best $1 desserts I have had.

They have baked pastries and puffs that I keep going back for, like their Apple Puff, their Chocolate Chip Cookies, Almond Cookies and one more addicting piece they have is their Chocolate Tulip Muffin, which is a moist chocolate muffin with a filling of nutella inside the muffin and chocolate chips on top and inside, which is just an explosion of chocolate inside my mouth.
Apple Puff

They also have meal sets that I am yet to try.

Value for money is great, and it is definitely a healthy, delicious place to eat that I would recommend to all my friends.
