If you're looking for an Ala-carte Japanese buffet that can spoil you crazy, go no further. Big credits to my father-in-law, who is a mega fan of Japanese food, our family discovered this restaurant that is now our family favourite when it comes to Japanese food fare.

This quaint-sized restaurant has one of the most wordy menu ever (http://www.irodorijapaneserestaurant.com.sg/images/Buffet/irodori_buffertmenu.pdf) but this only serves to built up your appetite, though it can also serve to confuse you on what to choose first! The rule of thumb before you feast here would be to have a really empty stomach to begin your major tuck-in. Reserve your seats and be early too since it's usually rather packed!

My personal favourite starter would be the Sashimi Moriawase (mix sashimi) where their cuts of the sake, maguro, hamachi, mekajiki, tako & tai are simply so fresh and savoury! The Irodori Maki and Saba Shioyaki also made its way to my favourites list. Oh and you must try their Hiyayako (Cold Tofu) too, it's surprisingly good!

I'm not a fan of handrolls but the Shake Temaki was quite a delight! Their Chawanmushi was also one of the few good ones that I've tried so far (making good Chawanmushi is an art!). Also, what's a Japanese meal without the Tempuras and Agemonos? You can just take your pick because their vegetables and seafood are impressively fresh. For Teppan Yaki, go for the Buta Enoki Maki or Beef Enoki Maki; they're just... WOW!*fireworks on tastebuds*

To be honest, most of the items on the buffet menu are really good. But you can skip the following: the Karaages and the Gyozas - not impressive.
