This saturday we had our breakfast at Ananda bhavan Veg restaurant at Little India.

Weekends asusal crowd was there. Here first you ordered & pay the food then they will served at your table.

So many variety of breakfast items are there.
One of my favourite is Pongal+ Vada. Yes This is made by rice with some lentils & garnished with crushed peper & cashews.
For this we can have the side gravys like sambar + Coconut chutney.
The vada also very soft ,though it is a deep fried item ,but not oily.Good in taste with less spices.

Then one of my another favourite is Poori with Masala.
Yes poori made by wheat flour & deep fried but not oily. The side dish of poori is you can eat with potato & vegetable Masala or Coconut Kurma.
The price is so affodable.Quality & taste is good.Nice breakfast we had.

I was in Little India, so I went to Ananda Bhavan for a cup to tea. i ordered for a samosa & a masala chai. The samosa was served hot, it was a potato samosa like any other, but was nice and crisp & fresh too. The masala tea was steaming hot & had a lovely masala aroma.Enjoyed my evening tea that evening.

This is a memorable dining moment for me because I love Indian food & love eating at Ananda Bhavan.I tired dosas, thalis & idlis at Ananda Bhavan which is quite a famous eatery in little India. some how I wasn't so fascinated by their Idlis . Though their other food is nice, the idlis were not upto the mark. they were not as soft as they should be. I love their Badam milk though.

The briyani, i thought that the rice was not sufficient. but the it was good. it came with quite number of items such as vegetable, a small vadai. 2 papaadam and thairu( yogurt). It was really very filling. Those who have not tried out the vegetable briyani, do try it out!

I was craving for vegetarian food and I had to satisfy my craving. I decided to dine in at anadha bhavan since the food and the service is of good standard. I ordered the saapadu which is also known as vegetarian meal. It comes with yogurt, carrots, rasam(south indian soup), achar, chapaati, vadai, pappadam and a few other side dish. The food was gone within minutes. It was awesome. The best way to eat this dish, is to pour all the gravy on the rice. It is indeed very tasty and the rice was well

It has probably been a very long time since i stepped into an Indian Vegetarian restaurant and Ananda Bhavan has left me impressed.Tried their Putu Bola at their media event and while almost tasteless yet sugary sweet with the dessicated coconut and sugar, it was a humble experience altogether. For Indian Vegetarian cuisine, I left full and happy. Savoury, slightly sweet, and very, very generous portions and ingredients, it tempts me to be an Indian Vegetarian convert!Good =)
