Introduction
Aster Pau aims to introduce traditional Hong Kong Dim Sum into the local market with a unique concept. The idea is to bring products from the upscale restaurant to the mid-market by means of a take away kiosk selling products that contains 50% meat and 50% vegetables, less oil (chef formulated olive oil), less fats and with more fibre and grains, hence making Aster Pau one of the healthier choice for consumers. continue reading

This stall was newly opened and had quite a few variety of fancy flavor 生煎包 (pan fried bao) on sale. I bought some to try and also some 水晶包 because they looked good. The 生煎包 skin was very thick and dry and the fillings portion was too little...not nice at all The chives & prawn 水晶包 (crystal dumpling) was on the other hand very fresh and tasty...skin was thin and soft to bite too... thumbs up. continue reading

This new pau chain that open at the third floor of Serangoon NEX first attracted me as they had liu sha pau. But I was a little taken off by the price and chose to buy the more filling da pau and char siew pau to try instead. The da pau is really nice and I really like the fact that they replace the usual quater hard boiled egg with a quail egg. The char siew pau is slightly too sweet but I still like it as a whole. continue reading
