On the whole, we felt that Awfully Chocolate still does best at its chocolate products and pastries. While their mains did not taste bad, the dishes were lacklustre and very much just average tasting and over price! For the same price, we could’ve had better quality and quantity food at some of the restaurants at Dempsey.

Have been there twice for dinner. Decent western dishes are served here. Needless to say, you can't complete your meal without trying their dessert as everyone knows it's famous for its chocolate. I suggest you going out to take a look of the desserts placed in the open kitchen before you order. You'll know which one to order once you see it. It's like love by the first sight.
The cupcake is different from the other cupcake. It's mainly made with choco mouse which is best to serve with other dessert like brownie or apple crumble. The choco layer cake (again, don't remember its name) is also very yummy. I seldom see this elsewhere.
Unfortunately, having been distracted by the lovely food, I forgot to take photos for most of the dish.
Gotta come again for just the dessert so that I can eat more!

Some French Style Sandwich I guess? It it is honey ham, cheese and egg served on the top of a thick toast. It is served with olive and sweet potato chips on the board. The dinging- ware is quite special I think.

Marinara Spaghetti:
This tomato base spaghetti is cooked with dory fish, tiger prawn and squid. The noodle is quite chewy and tasty. I like its sweet and sour tomato sauce a lot!

Awfully Chocolate chocolate milk:
The chocolate milk is served in an adorable plastic bottle, which could be brought home. The waitress told us to shake it well before we use it. The milk has a too strong chocolate favor. I could only handle to drink one cup of it.

Honey Lemongrass:
My boyfriend love the flavor of lemongrass so of course, he order it. The drink is served with a big grass jar. The honey is at the bottom and there is a lemongrass in it. We both think that this drink is a little bit of too sweet.

Cold Poached Chocolate:
Last but not least, the classic Awfully chocolate dessert. The chocolate is the same as the one you bought from the AC outlet. What really attract me is the Nine Thirty in Chinese written on the side of the dish. It makes this dessert so classy.

I enjoy my dinner here. This bistro is classy. The relaxing music they played really make the dinners cosy. When we left the restaurant, it is already late night but the restaurant is still full of people. I recommend this restaurant to you and hope you can have a enjoyable dinner there as much I do.

Chocolate is food for the soul and Awfully Chocolate does pretty good soul food. We decided to try out the Awfully Chocolate platter. My god, it was heavenly. The delicious rich chocolate was evident. Awfully Chocolate was not the least stingy with the amount of cocoa that went into baking the delicious brownies. The dark chocolate was very decadent The unique 'chopping board' was quite thoughtful. We will surely be back for more!

We decided to pop by Awfully chocolate along joo chiat one rainy afternoon, hoping some rich and thick chocolate would chase away the weekday blues. The white-washed cafe is a 3-in-1 concept: awfully chocolate, mooshi bakes and mooshi bistro, which means we could order different desserts from 3 different (one in the same actually) cafes, whatever the case is, it was good news for us!!

We had Hei ice cream which was extremely sinful but I do not regret at all, because it was overwhelming with chocolate, real chocolate!! Accompanied with moist and warm super stacked chocolate cake is best suited for die-hard chocoholics!!! The extremely soft chocolate cake melts in your mouth and its smooth velvety texture leaves you craving for more. Guaranteed to chase away any blues of any sort.

We also had the banana cream pie which caught me by surprise with its fragrant banana caramel and amazing blend of flavours and texture. It was dry nor soggy nor overly sweet. The custard wasn't too sweet, hence the sweetness came from the caramel and banana, giving the pie a nice balance to it. Definitely worth the try.

The pear Fragipane Tart was also good, not my top choice though. Especially not when it lack in frangipani essence or flavours. It seemed more like a normal pear tart to me. (Wasn't really a tart to me, the base was more of a cake.) Not something I would go back for.

At Awfully Chocolate, it is either the white or black for cupcake - Vanilla or Chocolate. I stored the cupcakes in the fridge and ate it instantly as it was too tempting. However, cupcakes from Awfully Chocolate taste better if you consume it at room temperature with the cream melting. I prefer the white and he is always after the black.

One of my favourite and a must have is the butterscotch! However, I just found it a little salty that day. Nonetheless, it is hard to maintain standard when business is growing.

If you don't know what to grab for Father's Day, head down to Awfully Chocolate and grab the specially designed cake in celebration of Father's Day!

There's an Awfully chocolate shop at the cross junction where the new 112@Katong mall is. Decided to walk in for some desserts. It was really crowded. We had to wait about 20 mins for our orders to be served. But throughout the entire waiting time, the lovely ladies had been apologizing to us for the wait. I had to go for a gathering and was driving along Katong and decided to drop by Awfully Chocolate to buy a cake. The Chocolate Banana cake came highly recommended and I thought since I have been buying plain chocolate fudge cakes for the longest time, will just buy something different for a change. Dessert time came and I took a bite into the tiny piece which I requested and realised the Chocolate Banana cake wasn't as sweet as the All Chocolate version and the banana actually blends in well with the chocolate. Not that bad afterall!

The deco of the shop is separated into 3 distinct zones to complement the 3 cuisine styles, yet they are connected in an open space, so you can choose where to sit depending on your mood and the occasion. The awfully chocolate space looks the cutest and more comfortable, while the joojoo side has wooden and metal chairs - more useful and functional for eating compared to the cushioned sofa seats.

We ordered food from Joojoo and Awfully chocolate. I had a chasiu egg and rice, while he ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream. The chasiu egg and rice was good, but not exactly what I expected
the chasiu is the japanese kind, so it was simplier, with less food colouring, and still tasted full and nice, well-roasted. The rice was nice an flavourful and very moist, just the way I liked it. The cake was good too, and it worked well together with the chocolate ice cream. However, you might ant to check on pricing before you order, as they charge you by weight, and there's no way you can tell the weight of the cake unless you ask. Felt a little cheated there, but the cake was good enough to let us not make a fuss

Their cafe latte was just nice too, rich and flavourful

What really impressed me was the prompt welcome that we got. Upon reaching, we were received almost immediately by a really nice lady (who seemed like the boss) who introduced us to the food an identified the most recommended dishes to us. She also pointed out the different zones and highlighted the cuisines available. She made us feel really welcomed and at home
Nice reception there
The rest of the staff were largely alright, although billing was a little problematic, with the check coming slowly and with a minor error.

All in all, a nice experience, and I'm not against the idea of coming back, but I'll bring an emptier stomach to eat the things i smelled that day (oh the smells were wondrous), and come on a day when nothing would test my patience. That welcome probably set my standards a little high ;)
