It's a recently opened Thai joint at Wheelock Place so we decided to check it out. We were one of the first customers to get there slightly before 12pm and their doors were actually still closed. After looking at their wide selection of Thai street food, I decided to order the Baa Mee Poo ($10.90) - a combination of egg noodle, crab meat and bacon. The dish was very tasty and addictive although the portion wasn't that big. I enjoyed the eggy taste of the noodles and the saltiness of the bacon. I

Food at Bangkok jam is really not too bad but i feel that the prices are a little too steep and not worth the price for the food serving the restaurant serve. Tried the crispy noodle prawn which is really delicious. The noodles are crispy and the prawns are succulent but the number of prawns in this dish is far too little and not worrth the price. The chicken is not bad but the portion size is quite small compared to other places.

YUMMM!!! This hot and cold dessert is a perfect end to a meal. This fried banana and vanilla ice cream dish is really a more deluxe version of what we know as goreng pisang. The bananas are caramelized and raisins are added on top for a sweet finish. The hot bananas goes really well with the vanilla ice cream. The bananas are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

next, we had clear tom yum soup. we feel that it's far too sour, not spicy at all.
the ingredients inside were squids, slices of fish, mushrooms & prawns.
despite the seafood content, it doesn't taste fishy at all.

next, to our main course. we ordered both their signature dishes..
i ordered signature beef noodles and my friend ordered fried egg noodles.

my beef noodles contain 2 beef balls, slices of beef and slices of beef chunks..

the soup has a nice fragrant and it taste even better after pouring all the chilli..
the beef isn't too dry, just nice.. it is very tender..

as for my friend's fried egg noodles

it's being fried with garlic and fried onions, it has a unique taste,
it's my 1st time eating noodles with this taste.

last, our dessert! my 1st time eating this..
tapioca with coconut cream..
it may not look very appealing, but it's delicious!

the tapioca is very chewy and the coconut milk bring out the sweetness.

the total cost is $57.95.. the price may be a little bit steep,
but we feel that it's worthwhile!

Bangkok Jam – as the name says it – cooks up Thai-inspired dishes that appear mouth-watering on the menu. Prices here are largely extravagant but the portions here are tiny. For starter, we had a Pomelo Salad with Shrimp ($9.90).
Topped with cashew nuts sprinkled with a sweet lemon zest sauce, this pomelo salad is a refreshing starter that opens up our appetite. The portion was so small even though we expected it to be a large plate from the picture, and I think it is fairly overpriced for such a small dish.

We also ordered the Fried Chicken Wings with Fish Sauce Marinate ($8.90), and it was a letdown because we can’t taste the fish sauce marinate. In fact, it was quite weird because we were thinking don’t people dislike the smell of fishes? Why add a fish sauce marinate into the fried chicken wings? We gave some better name suggestions like ‘Golden Roasted Thai Wings’ which would definitely sound more attractive, I guess this sauce should be a secret recipe but we’re not sure whether they meant the sweet chilli or not. Confusing.

One of my friends had this, which I believe is Fish N’ Chips (can’t remember the exact name). Kind of strange to find western food in a Thai cuisine place, but it turns out that when you sink your teeth into the soft white flesh it appears quite delicious to eat as well! However, the chips was a sloppy chunk of moist potato slices that have been left exposed to the air too long and tasted like dry mashed potato. Absolutely weird.

We also had the red curry chic ken with rice and the green curry chicken with rice that both cost $11.50 each. Was there any distinguished taste? I think the portions is too small to satisfy.
With a palm-sized ball of rice and barely any meat in the curry, I thought that it would be better if this was served with prata or as a snack instead. The red curry was better because it was less oily but I thought the green curry was more fragrant and at least had more vegetables in it.

We didn’t order any Thai iced teas, they serve water for free on Bangkok Jam coasters, which I presume that is why the cost of the food was more high-end because they’re spending on unnecessary decorations to touch up the place like this.

I’m a fan of Thai food but I just felt that this was just not the one and improvements must be made. Therefore we all agreed that we do not recommend this as well, and I personally felt that they should have a feedback form so that we could give them our thoughts.
