Happened to chance upon an online deal which offers prata, naan, thosai and chapati buffet at Big Bites just for $4.90 per pax. The restaurant can be easily located, just 5 mins from Little India MRT, right opposite Tekka Market. It is situated at a corner of a shophouse, occupying both levels. Quite surprisingly, it wasn't crowded when we went there on a Saturday at 11.30a.m. There were still plenty of seats available.

The staff later advised us that we should have made a booking and we should have came after 12.30p.m as the naan and chapati were only served then. This of which the deal did not state.

Therefore we decided to order a mushroom and a chocolate prata followed up a mushroom thosai. The prata was quite plain as this restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant and therefore there isn't the nice smelling taste that you get when you eat other prata. The chocolate prata which was served had only a small amount of chocolate drizzled onto the prata. This occurred to the onion prata which we ordered after that also. The onion was merely sprinkled on top of the prata but not fried together with it.

The thosai on the other hand was quite spectacular. It's one of the largest and longest thosai I have ever seen!

However, I suppose I'm not really accustomed to eating the various types of curry as I find them a tad to sour for my liking. As stated earlier, this restaurant is pure vegetarian and hence there aren't any meat-flavoured curries available.
The curries used were chickpeas and onion (if I'm not mistaken). It's really healthy!

Overall, the food satisfaction wasn't really good, but I enjoyed sitting on the 2nd floor of the shop house all relaxed, watching the bustling street of Little India.

Last month I visited Little India for some grocery shopping. I stopped by Big Bites there for my evening cup of tea & some Indian snacks. I was in a hurry so I just had tea there. I ordered for a masala tea which is a spicy milk tea brewed with a couple of spices such as cardamon, cinnamon, cloves etc....It was strong & a perfect drink after a tiring day. I also picked up dhokla which is a gram flour steamed cake. It was soggy & soft & really yummy. I picked a dal wada too, which is a deep fried

It was spicy & let alot of green chillies in it. Both snacks were fresh & tasty. The food at Big bites is cheap I hardly paid less then 5 $ for a cup of tea & 2 snacks

I went to big bites the other day for a quick snack & tea. I asked for a samosa. Which is very similar to a curry puff. It has a crispy other shell & is filled with potato, green chilli, onions & some indian spices. It is a deep fried snack. It is best eaten with sauce or chutney. It tastes good when served hot. Samosa also tastes great with a cup of hot masala tea. I've eaten samosa in other places, but the one in Big bites is really good, especially the filling inside it.

“Great naan, rice and daal, decent prices, very consistent!”apr 17, 2012 We order delivery over the phone, they're very easy to deal with and the food arrives piping hot, within an hour. We always order the following (because it's absolutely delicious and we can't bring ourselves to get anything else...yet); 2 Naan: "Traditional Indian white flour bread prepared in tandoori oven."Special Naan: "Stuffed and cooked in tandoori oven."Palao Rice: "Basmati rice seasoned with spices and steam cooked."

I should add that this order lasts us a couple of days as t

This is a memorable dining moment for me because...I tried out something very different and tasty today-- Manchurian Idli's. It cost's just 3.8 $ & the portion is big, more than what a single person can eat. Its tasty, spicy & has the perfect Manchurian flavour. Bite sized mini idli's are cut into 2 halves and used in the Manchurian. Big bites is also known for it's thalis.

I was a bit skeptical about eating vegetarian food since I’m a big fan of meat. However I tried the chapatti and im amazed at how much I actually love it! It is soft and can be easily cut. The sauces that came along with it were so addictive. Price is reasonable too, definitely thumbs up!
