Over the weekend I have came to this Chinese restaurant with a group of my fellow ex-classmates to have a big feast here. Surprisely, this restaurant was quite quiet and not too crowded, unlike the usual Chinese restaurant during dinner hours which are really crowded and noisy.

We have ordered their signature salted yolk crabs, which indeed is really delicious. Generous amount of salted egg yolks have been used to cook this dish, which make it very fragrant and not too salty. The seafood fried noodles is also equally delicious. Chewy noodles with lots of fresh crunchy prawns and chewy lean meats in it. It is very flavourful and not too oily. Stir fried bitter gourd is not too bitter and full of the egg fragrant in it as well.

A lovely meal and good service is provided here as well.

Hokkien Noodles: The traditional KL version came with big fat noodles and plenty of sweet sauce with lots of pork lard. When the dish was served, my daughter instantly suffered drawback symptom, and she refused to take a bite describing why we ordered a plate of cooked fat earthworm! The noodles were sweet in taste and perhaps too sweet that taste nothing but a plate of sweet noodles.

Beancurd with pumpkin sauce: Presented in a alluring manner but the pumpkin was hard and not soft to the bite. Seasoning was mild and a light dish that will please those health conscious.

Wasabi prawn: Beautiful presentation and the prawn was fresh and springy, it was lightly coated with the mixture of wasabi and mayonnaise, topped with the crispy extra fine vermicelli that accentuated the flavourful of this signature dish. This is one of the salivating and excellent dishes that cannot be missed when dining here.

Crab with salted egg: The house specialty is crab and naturally a must order dish when you are here. The crab was perfectly cooked; the meat was easily detached from the shell and firm, it went well with salted egg gravy.

Crispy roll: A filling made up of fish paste and shrimp, wrapped in a paper thin beancurd skin and deep fried to a perfect crisp exterior, dipped into the mayonnaise and truly succulent to the taste buds.

Despite this being rather out of the way, do not be discouraged. Gems must be unearthed and this one is good. There wasn't a dish we didn’t like when we went that day. We ordered bright kang kong stir-fried simply with garlic, an appetising exposition of dark KL-style fried hokkien noodles, and claypot tofu (very smooth) with ground meat.Their recommended specialties: a fried tofu topped with a golden pumpkin sauce and fried enoki plus a flat pancake of beancurd skin wrapped around some seafood

fantastic seafood and zi char at this casual chinese restaurant nearish the singapore expo – really, it’s rather out of the way (for us), but it’s now become my family’s go-to place for crabs and the like, and well-worth travelling to. the place has been packed to the rafters even by early evening (we popped here on two consecutive sundays because it was so good) – but the prices are reasonable, the food is absolutely commendably executed, and service is both sincere and quick.

having spent a few years away, I’ve gained newfound appreciation for places like this one – where you can viably decide not to cook and pay a little more for a balanced meal: this isn’t really an option you often get in london – not such variety at equivalent prices, anyway.

the food here is great – and it draws large crowds despite occupying two shop spaces in an obscure location, so I recommend reservations, and also that you head down for a spot of great seafood no matter where you are. it beats those too-crowded options at the east coast – you know which ones I mean – in price, service and quality.

The salad fritters- crispy you tiao stuffed with fish cake and goes with salad sauce, this is nice, i like the salad sauce and the taste of it.
minced pork bean curd- was a little disappointed with this! i thought it will be wow! but it came in plain presentation and taste was average only. the bean curd is not soft, but topping minced pork was nicely done and very fragrance so somehow it cover up alittle.
bitter gourd fish- didnt know it was spicy, but taste ok when it goes with rice. the fish was fresh and well cooked, just that its not to my liking cause its spicy.
prawn- this is definitely fresh! very fresh prawn, sweet!
pork rib- can order this too, the meat is nicely seasoned and cooked, tender and fragrance
lotus soup- lotus soup was average
Green apple sour plum- a must try! this is really refreshing and nice! a little sourish sweet taste. nice!

total added up to $113

Took away a pack of chicken rice from Big Eater. The queue is always horribly long when it comes to lunch hour! Worth the queue as I really love the rice to the core. It is really fragrant! I had chicken drumstick. The meat is succulent and juicy. Yummy!

My dad had a department dinner here and they ordered too much food. Luckily, they can takeway those food not eaten but are already ordered, such as this fried rice which was supposed to be the last few dishes. The fried rice is very fragrant - each grain of rice is distinct from the other and it is very flavourful, with the bits of fried egg and the small prawns. However, as it it really quite oily, it is best not to indulge in such treats too often - or best would be to share it.

I strongly recommend the green apple with plums. The taste is very unique and refreshing. The sour plum makes your appetite better too. I love the shade of green colour too!

The seafood hor fun with salted fish is nice too. Chewy with lots of beansprouts for crunchy-ness. It is neither too wet or too dry. Worth a try.

The black udon mee is really good too. Chewy and special and i especially love the gravy!

The crab cooked in salted egg style looks nice, judging from my family eating it. Haha! Cuz i dont take crab.

Another must try which i strongly recommend is the shrimp in deep fried beancurd skin!!! Super sinful I know as it is oily. But it tasted so crispy and the shrimp so chewy!! Awww~

The herbal chicken ginseng soup is their signature dish. It looks really awesome, with the waitress adding in wine and lighting up a fire. However, i feel that the herbal soup is too strong to my liking, and also, salty too. I dont really like the chicken in it too.. Tasted too hard and not tender enough.

The fried fish was a disappointment. The fish wasnt really fresh, I figured cuz we choose to fried it instead of steam.
The appearance doesnt look appetising too.

The pumpkin tofu with shrimps doesnt taste good too. It tasted blant in fact. Truely a disappointment.

I feel not really worth the money with just a few dished that is nice, taking into consideration the hygiene and the price we are paying for. The price is not really cheap.
