The Lor Mee here is quite good. Prices start from $2.50 and I got the $3.50 portion. As expected, the portion is quite big. There were some lor ba (fatty meat), char siew, wu chang, fish cake and fried fish. The wu xiang was fried until it was as crispy as biscuit. The gravy is also very delicious and makes you want to eat more. I will recommend you to try this if you are looking for good lor mee. continue reading

Ever wonder why would someone queue up for more than half an hour for a bowl of Lor Mee to satisfy their taste buds? This is a common sight for Bukit Purmei Lor Mee Stall daily. Their diehard fans would just join in the snaky queues and grab a bowl of it to warm up their stomach. Perhaps it's spectacular gooey, luscious gravy, slurpy braised pork belly and its crunchy bits are simply above average standard as compared to any other Lor Mee Stall locally. Having tried many Lor Mee Stalls, I can assure that is one of the few that keeps me returning. Silvia dripping? A trip down to Bukit Purmei is worth the while.I'm quite particular on its Yellow Noodles when it comes to Lor Mee and would immediately strike off any dish if any strong "ki" smell of the noodle is present.Besides the ingredients as the main criteria for a winning bowl of Lor Mee, its gravy does plays an important role, giving the ensemble a savoury finish.Condiments like their vinegar and finely chopped garlic were added to give another punch to the dish.It comes in three sizes priced at $2.50 (Red bowl), $3 (Green Bowl) and $3.50 (yellow bowl).A standard bowl of Lor Mee consists of slices of lean Lor Bak, crunchy bits, ngor hiang and char siew. The fragrant braised sauce was consistent and one would not feel "jerlat" even having such a big bowl. The plus point was its cripsy bits which remains a good cripsy texture after being soaked into the sauce. For those who wants to avoid the queue, try to be there as early as 7.30am.For more details, visit http://umakemehungry.blogspot.sg/2013/10/lor-mee-bukit-purmei.html continue reading

Even i reached at 7.45am morning at sunday, I waited for about 20 mins in the queue and about 10 people in the queue. There were 2 aunties cooking, one prepare the noodles and another pour the gravy in(they aren't that fast either) so thankfully they limited the order to max 4. You can order small ,med or large bowl from starting from $2.5,3,3.50.You can choose your choice of noodles or mix. To me, is quite nice and even attracted my relatives staying at the north side like to come down to eat. It is good for breakfast continue reading

I ordered 3 bowls of lor mee for breakfast with 2 friends to start my day , I waited 15 minutes for the noodle. For those people who come during the weekends or public holidays , the common waiting time will be at least 45 minutes. Advisable to come early to avoid the crowds. Nowadays , the boss only limit to a maximum of 4 bowls of lor mee order unlike in the past , the customer can place an order up to 10 bowls or packets. I am a regular customer since year 2007 , the lor mee full of different types of ingredients ( slices of char siew , fish cake , fish fillet , meat , fried crispy crust , etc ) Do give it a try ! Delicious !!!!! continue reading
