The ingredient chicken and prawns was fresh with green Chilli, vegetables and onions. The chicken is very tender with special soup. It was a good mixture. Just caution as it so hot. 🌶🌶
It would like best if can order some side dish.

My colleague and I ordered the couple set (which comes with a small signature chicken hotpot, a small spicy shrimp hotpot and 2 drinks) for $33.80++.Small signature chicken hotpot comes with thick savory sauce and small pieces of chicken meat, capsicum, onion and chili. Did i mentioned that the staff will check with the customer on the level of spiciness we want beforehand? We choose the less spiciness because both of us cannot take spicy stuffs. The sauce is thick and concentrate which we loved to have it with plain rice. The staff will starts to add stock to dilute it along our dinner and it becomes fragrant soup to consume.

The spicy shrimp hotpot comes with sweet and spicy sauce, fried prawns, french fries and celery. This is the first time seeing the combination of the prawn with french fries dipped with the sauce. We can add stock to the special sauce as well.

There is a display steamboat ingredients fridge at a corner where customers can self-take the items such as mushrooms, vegetables, eggs and more to add into the soup. All these will be additional cost based on the colour of the plate. The staff will check on the table plates before we take the bill to the counter to make payment.

Total bill comes with 10% service charge and 7% GST. I got the 10% discount off total bill voucher so managed to get further discount for the bill. So if you like strong food flavors, you might want to give it a try.

I always walk past this restaurant and see a long queue.. been wanting to try this for a long time and finally I get to try it.Spicy Chicken Hotpot, this is nice. It is flavourful and the chicken pieces are tender. I like to eat this with white rice, super nice. One thing about this chicken hotpot is that, when you finish the chicken pieces, you can ask the waitress to help you add water into the pot and you can choose what ingredients you want to add from the fridge beside the cashier. I saw a recent food program re-run of this place and saw the sizzling chicken pot so I couldn’t help but hurried down to try. This place is bright, but small and cramped. Servers were fast and responsive. We ordered Signature Chicken Hotpot, Beef Hotpot.Succulent and spicy chicken parts boiling in thick flavourful sauces; they’ve got a fridge filled with 'steamboat' ingredients for us to chose from and to cook it hands on in the pot. Tried this restaurant at NEX with my family. The hotpot tasted normal and it is not really that unique. There are many ingredients inside the soup and we ordered other dishes as well. There are various set meals which are good for families and couples to try but the price is a little expensive. Overall the service is still okay as the service is quite slow maybe due to the crowd.

this is the worse. the prawns was okay but they but fries under the prawns soaking it in the gravy. i hate soggy fries and i think its a really bad idea. they should have used small potatoes instead. bad idea.

Chicken Hotpot was something we always wanted to try at Serangoon Nex - the ingredients coupled with boiling broth looks appetizing, their concept of "Shanghai-nese buffet hotpot" is refreshing, what else? Oh yes, televisions screening them as a featured restaurant and what typical Singaporeans look for in a "die-die-must-try" makan place - snaking long queues.

The Shanghai-inspired restaurant has a couple meal going on for approximately $30+, which includes the Spicy Prawn hotpot and Chicken Claypot, along with a jug of thirst-quenching fruit punch/soft drink.

The Spicy Prawn hotpot is recommended for chilli-lovers looking for an intriguing fusion in their mini-hotpot. French fries in sambal broth?! Don't be alarmed like yours truly. It was my virgin experience trying out this unique combination as well, and trust me when I say that it is addictive. Prawns-wise, the meat lacks in juiciness and appears to be slightly overcooked. For health gurus, just a friendly warning that the gravy will be quite oily to take in.

Their signature Chicken Claypot was the highlight of the entire meal, with tender and succulent chicken meat simmered in thick and flavourful base over long hours. It is paired with crunchy celery, capsicums and onions. However, the amount of chicken meat was rather disappointing, if not, paired with glass noodles, the Chicken Claypot would make a perfect choice for any individuals looking for inner warmth in a chilly weather.

Not enough? Grab some ala carte items (S$1+ to S$3+) and cook them in the refillable broth!

All in all, Chicken Hotpot is not really "wow-inducing", but it would do fine for people looking for convenient and fuss-free hotpot meals, else the slightly hefty price.

Dinner time!
Trying something special, chicken hotpot!
They served spicy and non-spicy dishes in their restaurant.
Though mostly are spicy stuffs. Good place to dine for the chilli lovers

Both of us ordered the mild spicy prawns and sesame chicken plus rice and tea.
The food came soon after our drinks were served.
The mild spicy prawns hotpot is stuffed with lots of french fries below. The chilli sauce are below the french fries.
To my opinion, the mild spicy prawn dish is considered very spicy to me. I glup down quite a lot of tea after trying it.

The sesame chicken is with lots of onions and celery. This is a non-spicy dish. So it kinds of complements the spicy prawn dish. Overall, I enjoy the dishes as they are served hot and fast.

Will visit Chicken Hotpot again~

Wooo, the photos of the food still makes me linger over the Gong pao chicken (宫保雞丁).

Had my dinner at Serangoon Nex today, was searching up and down, looking for the right restaurant after my last day of Christmas shopping before Monday.

Was actually expecting to dine in another Japanese Resturant, but yeah after our shopping, the closing time were also near. So, we stroll around quickly, and got attracted by the smell when we walked pass.

For dinner, we actually ordered the Set meal for Four to cater to Three of us. But the portion is up to my expectation, and too much for us to finish actually.

The set meal costs $58.90++.
Inclusive of
-One Large Hot Pot Chicken. (Available in Spicy or non-spicy.)
-One Large Tom Yum Prawn. (Available in Spicy or less-spicy.)
-One handmade Fish or Prawn Paste.
- Jar of Soft Drink. (Pepsi.)
- Four White Rice.-The Tom Yum Prawns. (★★★★☆)
With prawns on the top layer, fries on the bottom layer and tom yum soup base.
-The Gong Bao Chicken. (★★★★★) MY PERSONAL FAVE!
With 4x4 cm size chicken breast cubes, capsicums and gong bao chicken soup base.(★★★★☆) CREATIVITY FULL MARKS.
-The Fish or Prawn paste, which I still don't know which it is.
Delicately packed in a small bag with a hole at the front.
To be squeeze into the Gong bao chicken soup and eat like maybe... fish paste noodles? Squeezing in process~The boiling fish paste noodles. As seen, the restaurant name is Chicken Hot Pot.
So all the food are served in mini hotpots! Super cute and convenient!
Also, the restaurant caters to those personal mini hot pot. (Portion quite big.) The drinks in jug.

Overall, I will certainly patronize this outlet again as I'm truly impressed with the service, food, atmosphere and price!
From topping up soups, refilling drinks for us automatically and most importantly, I don't get smelly and oily after eating the hotpots!
Hahahaha, I think best part is still the price. $69.80 (Round up $70) for the whole family to a restaurant is truly reasonably priced and pocket friendly for most families.

Being a fan of hot pots, I decided to try this cute Chicken HotPot restaurant in Nex Mall located at Serangoon Central. We went there on a sunday during lunch time and the place was really crowded. I ordered the small chicken hot pot stirred fry in soy sauce without spice and two bowls of rice. The portion was sufficient for two people to share. The bill came up to around $22.

The chicken hot pot tasted just like claypot chicken. Basically, it consist of bits of chicken with bits of capsicum, onion and celery. I find that this is simply overrated as this dish is really normal. Not alot of meat in fact. More bones and the other ingredients. All in all, i find that the food here is average and not really worthy! There are alot of cheaper alternatives which is tastier!

Chicken hotpot at NEX mall. Looked interesting enough and it capture my attention so i went for it. The food were all served in a huge steamboat pot. We ordered their spicy prawn hotpot. It was very delicious and fresh. The prawns were quite big and juicy as well. But it was pretty spicy in my opinion. Plus point if you are dining with a few people as the portion was quite huge as well. Worthy to give it a try!

The gravy is nice and great for eating with rice. On top of this, you can request for the waitress to top up the soup for the claypot if you find the gravy getting lesser. The waitresses are quite nice too. Keep on going around to check on the claypots and asked if we need to top up more soup etc. If she noticed that temperature of the claypot is too high, offered to lower the burner for us. I love the chicken here as they have quite lean meats. Great for those who do not like fatty meats. You can also order Shrimps claypot (Small $14.80, Large $23.80) or Beef claypots (Small $15.80, Medium $19.80, Large $23.80)
