Time of visit : 2.40pmWhat we had : Wanton Spinach NoodlesAverage cost/pax : $5.00/ 1 paxAmbience : Normal food court ambience. Busy during lunch hour, quieter after that. Airconditioned.Service : Fast delivery upon payment.Portion : The rubberband texture of the noodle is not to my liking. It's greasy on the outside and little is "absorbed" into the noodle nor meat. Charsiew is very dry. Just too bad it doesn't taste as good as it looks. Well presented though as seen on photo. pretty expensive too as I've easily eaten $2 / $3 Charsiew Wanton Mee better than this.Location : Katong I12 previously known as Katong Mall to some of us 80s/90s people has upgraded their carpark and there's usually many lots there (except weekends) , make sure you enter by East Coast Road, and not the TGIF side, the guards will re-route you or tell you no entry. What's good in particular : Presentation. What's bad in particular : Taste. Unjustified cost.ABiteOfEverything.com continue reading

Does not really like the deep fried dumplings selling from this stall as the dumplings are not filled with much pork meat in it and there are actually no 'x-factor' to these dumplings. Was not too impress that the meat filling in the dumplings are just pure minced meat with no other ingredients in it. Taste really bland and with no much flavour as well. The dumpling skin, fortunately is quite crispy and not too oily. continue reading

This stall offers really chewy egg noodles that is so tasty, you will definitely be addicted to the great taste and texture. However I still feel that there are still rooms for improvement for their char siew meat which is not really roasted till crispy even though the meat is consider quite chewy. The wantons are also quite boring in taste which only plain minced meat is wrap in the wanton skin. If there is a full nice package for all the items in their wanton noodles, I will give them almost a perfect ten ! continue reading

Mdm Soh, owner of the famous Cho Kee Wanton Noodles at Old Airport Road will be launching "coloured noodles", like carrot, seaweed and beetroot flavours, created especially for Food Republic 112 Katong for that unique spin-off.Choices of Wanton NoodleChoo Kee Noodle has been serving their much-loved traditional wanton noodles to customers from all walks of life. To maintain the high level of food quality for an exquisite taste, noodles and ingredients like char siew, dumplings and chilli are now prepared in their central kitchen.Dumpling Spinach Noodle @ S$7.00The sauce for the wanton noodle was tasty but I felt the noodle was not springy enough (perhaps we had left the noodle too long before consume as we were busy taking pictures of the food). The char siew was tender and decent, a stronger stock will make the wanton & dumpling soup more slurp-worthy.Don't fancy soup dumpling? The fried dumpling will be a good choice, oyster vegetables is available for ordering too. continue reading

I tried the wanton noodles from this stall, it does not really up to my standard. Though the noodles were cooked perfectly, very springy and QQ but the char siew was not too good. I was not roasted well enough. The char siew did not have any charred bits, it was not as tasty. The wanton was so so, quite big and meaty. You can taste that they used really fresh meat to make the wanton. The wanton skin is very thin too. the vegetable was a little overcooked and tasteless. Since I ordered the dry version, my noodles was mixed with gravy. The gravy was rather tasty but I think their chilli was not bad, very spicy and shiok. I think it is the saviour of this dish. continue reading
