For additional reviews of this place, please see http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.com/2011/03/cova-pasticceria-paragon.html and http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.com/2011/02/cova-pasticceria-paragon.htmlAlthough the array of pretty desserts and pastries is breathtaking, this charming tea-room-styled bistro serves more than just sweets. The quality of the Italian cuisine here, albeit with a limited menu, is almost faultless. Desserts here are admittedly pricey, so it's best to get the desserts after 8pm, as they go for half the price then. Much more worth it.We had:1) Mozart ($16) starter of arugula and grilled prawns dressed with balsamic vinegar was fantastic. The bouncy plump prawns, coated with a smoky sweet glaze, harmonized brilliantly with the bitter crunchy arugula leaves2) Merluzzo alla Piastra con Pomodori al Forno e Riduzione di Balsamico ($34) pan roasted cod with oven baked tomatoes and balsamic vinegar reduction. The fish was fresh, mild and creamy, topped with a generous sprinkling of ground pistachios for some crunch and a light nutty accent.3) Risotto al Tartufo Nero ($30) black truffle risotto with porcini mushroom and veal jus - delicate and elegant. My only gripe is that the portion was too tiny for me4) Dark & White Chocolate Cake ($8) - awesome. The dark chocolate, with its bittersweet overtones, married well with the rich milkyness of the white chocolate. A semi-tart blackberry, raspberry and strawberry provided a brilliant counterfoil to the rich, creamy dessert. continue reading

Although the cake design here may not be that sophisticated and colourful, but taste of their cake is indeed awesome and really delicious. One of my favourite choice will be their tirumisu cake which includes lots of layers of sponge cake and fine quality cream in it. They will only the finest dark chocolate to produce the cake which really make taste alot different from those normal confectionary shops out there. Not really that affordable as per slice of cake selling here can be as high as near to ten to fifteen dollars per piece of it. Not too affordable for home's celebration. continue reading

So me and my friends were shopping in orchard last week. And my friend wanted to buy some cakes for her boyfriend and his boyfriend specifically only want cakes from this cafe. Cova, Pasticceria - Confetteria. So we decided to have our tea break here then. It was my first time here! There were variety of cakes and it looked so tempting and delicious and i feel like ordering all! We chose some of them and ordered a cup of coffee. The environment and decoration of the shop has European style and its very cozy. continue reading

I went with my friends for dinner at this restaurant mainly cause we had the Groupon voucher. Although the place is tug at a corner in paragon, they serve really nice food. We ordered a calzone pizza that came in a curry puff shape as well as the parma ham pizza with rocket salad. Both were tasty and good. After which we shared a black forest cake desert which came with an ice cream. I really liked the environment of this restaurant as it looks and feel really high-class. There is also a wide selection of assorted cakes and what great is that, there are discounts for cakes after 8pm. Many customers came to just get the cakes but not dine-in. This place is actually famous for its cakes and pastries. continue reading

Armed with a stack of Groupon vouchers, we brought Baby and grandparents to try Cova in Paragon. We didn't manage to get a seat in our first attempt to make reservation, and in the second attempt could not get our preferred time slot and had to settle for a later seating - I guess the promotion worked real well for them.We were seated at a corner of the inside dining area. The ambience was nicely elegant, Service was a bit slow. It took a bit of time for us to get noticed and duly seated when we arrived. ordered a pot of peppermint tea. an expensive one.To note though that their patisserie has a 50% discount on cakes after 5pm, and their cakes are quite good. Cova had inside and "outside" dining areas; outside being an area somewhat like what is occupied by many cafes in shopping malls i.e. not a shop unit bounded by walls, but an open area in between the passages. The outside had a cafe service counter, while the inside had the pastries and cakes display, and the kitchen of course.I love their Parma ham with rocket pizza, however i think desert is still the most delightful... continue reading
