Located islandwide is this western stall call golden rooster, 可爱鸡. I have tried this years ago and love it ever since. Different outlets have a bit different taste but the menu is the same. I have tried the one at taman jurong, jurong west street 42 and this one at clementi. The one that I find most worthy is the half chicken. They have both barbequed and fried ones. For this outlet at clementi, the barbequed one used to be nicer, now I prefer the fried one. It cost about S$5.30 per plate for half a chicken with rice and salad. Super satisfying and definitely very filling. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside. Salad taste pretty good. The rice is still fragrant though it used to be much better. They have other dishes as well, those without rice like fish and chips, whole chicken and wings sold separately. Another dish I would like to recommend is the black pepper chicken chop rice. The black pepper sauce is flavourful, not too much pepper. The chicken chop is grilled well, can tell that the chef manage and control the fire well and grilled it to perfection. However, it cost a bit more, about 6 bucks. That is why I find the half chicken more worth it as the quantity and portion is larger.

Golden Rooster is one of the Tenderfresh subsidiaries and they have been very popular over the years as a western food stall famous of its farm fresh chickens. This western food stall is easily accessible as they are within walking distance from Clementi MRT station as well as bus interchange.This stall has been around for 10 over years and in fact it had even expanded its territory in the coffee shop after its renovation.Retaining the good old school western food presentation with coleslaw and fries as sides for the slab of chicken chop, the dish came with a golden fried bun which pack additional fragance as well as filling up a portion of the stomach space. The chicken chop, however tasted not as good as before even though it was still tender and did not have the kind of frozen meat taste. It was still not at its best for its meat was not thoroughly marinated.

Everyone goes to Golden Rooster for their BBQ Chicken and Fried Chicken. But no one mentioned their Chicken Chop.There was always long queue at this outlet during meal times and not to mention when you ordered a grilled meat chop, they will then freshly cooked and the wait was even longer.At last the Grilled Chicken Chop came to my table after about twenty minutes wait.The Chicken Meat was grilled to perfection. The skin of the chicken was crispy! The meat was tender though slightly bland. Nevermind, there was this savoury gravy sauce added to the grilled chicken meat.Overall was quite delicious. I would come back for more.

This Golden Roaster branch at Clementi central was really outstanding as compared to other franchise branches around. I had tried the Grilled Chicken Chop at this outlet. Their gravy was totally different from the rest of the branches, it was savory and you can even drink as a soup. The Chicken meat was grilled such that the skin was crispy and the meat was juicy.

Golden Rooster is always one of my favourite stall when it comes to BBQ chicken. Their half BBQ chicken set comes with an option of fries or rice. Their chicken is always tender and juicy, next their serving were also generous. Although, there is an increase of price ($5.30) after renovation, but their consistent standard is what attracts me to visit them.
