I was at Nex buying dinner for hubby and myself. He wanted to eat roast duck so I bought our dinner from Guan Chee.Traditional handmade Ngoh Hiang $5.00This is very good, has the homemade taste with chopped prawn meat, chestnuts and minced pork wrapped in thin and crispy beancurd skin...thumbs up!My Roast pork rib & pork belly rice $5.30There are very few Cantonese roast stalls that sell roasted pork ribs. This stall does it very well. The pork rib meat is very tender and juicy with slightly charred skin drenched in sweet char siew sauce and topped with sesame seeds. The roast pork belly was good too, with crackling skin and perfectly proportioned lean & fatty meat.Hubby's Roast duck & char siew rice $6.00Duck meat was thick and tender, skin was thin and slightly crispy. Char siew was well roasted with charred bits but not overcooked, meat is still tender. The thick gravy sauce was very yummy.The staffs were friendly and gave us generous portions of roast meat and sauces. We would return again to try other dishes.

I ordered a plate of Roasted Meat with Char Siew FOR $4.50. No soup is served with the rice though. The portion is quite generous for both meats. The seasoning was just right and not too salty. The roasted meat done quite nicely to have a slightly crispy layer. The char siew was slightly charred to give it a nice fragrance. The braised sauce goes well with the meats and rice.

After grocery shopping at NTUC NEX, we decided to have dinner at the Food Republic food court. As I was hungry, I wanted to have some rice based food. I saw the display case showing the nice looking char siew so I decide to order a plate. The char siew tasted okay but the sauce is a bit sweet. The rice was a bit mushy and tasted average.

I went to nex to utilise one of the voucher acquired via Groupon and realised the participating outlet has already closed. I went hunting for an alternative during the busy lunch hour. We decided to eat at this food court and this stall happened to be one of the stalls with no queue. I decided to go for it as i was already starving at 2pm. Roasted Meat and Char Siew rice is not an option in the menu and in order to order it, i will have to order the Char Siew rice at $3.50 and add another $1.00 for the roasted meat. I ended up paying $4.50. I was a little surprised when realised no soup is served along with the rice. Both types of meats tasted alright and pretty good portion for both were given. So, though it was a little pricey but i think it is acceptable in such an air-conditional food court. I am not sure whether i would return as i can get better roasted meats at a cheaper price elsewhere.

This Roast stall which sells all type of roast meat. I came across the Chinese Sausage hanging in the stall, decided to order 2 boxes of sausage rice for takeaway.The box is filled with big fat slices of Chinese Sausage, not the usual ones that you used for cooking. The sausage is well marinated and has bits of lean meat and fats.It is tasty and has accompanied thick gravy which you can pour on top of the rice.
