I have cast my footprints at the stall once more but this time round for its Duck Rice Set. Queue was surprisingly shorter than the usual days which was an added advantage to us. Waiting time was less than 5 minutes with 3 heads in front. The complete set meal comes with a soup and a plate of braised duck rice with meat, halved braised egg, Tau Gua, slices of cucumber parked at the side of the plate and not forgetting the bowl of soup with strong herb taste!I have taken the Kway-Chap version of

I have taken the Kway-Chap version of chilli and have the duck version's scooped on my plate by the lady helper. It tastes sweet without much spiciness. Every white plate was printed with Heng Heng's Stall name in chinese characters and its unit number.

Overall, I would say that if more gravy is added to the plate of rice, it would taste even better. Food tastes quite dry as gravy managed to covered the top of portion the duck meat only, skipping the rice and every thing else. However, taste of the braised egg turns out well with strong herb taste. Perhaps, during my next visit, I would request for more gravy.

FoodSurprisingly, the braised duck stalls in West Coast food center are popular. My colleague was telling me about the dropping standards. However, as this is the first time I'm patronizing the stall, I could not comment much. The Duck Kway Tiao Dry, S$2.50 (Small) or S$3.00 (Big) are great. Slices of braised duck meat were placed on top of the kway tiao. These duck meats are fork tender and chewy without too much of fats seen, the braised . Generous amount of oil together with Kway Tiao Kia (smaller in width kway tiao) was used, lending an unctuous essence to the dish, my colleagues and I had a hard time grabbing them up with our chopsticks. As it keeps slipping off from the chopsticks, some of the gravy which was coated on the kway tiao had spilled onto our clothing.

I was somehow disappoint at the soup taste as there was no herbal taste. On the other hand, chilli was great compliments from the stall. Tastes like "Orh Lua" (Fried Oyster) 's chilli, with abit of sourness. For extra kick, douse some chilli sauce onto the braised duck.

Price
Quite reasonable pricing as S$2.50 for a bowl of duck noodle can hardly be found nowadays.

The bowls are very oily and be careful not to slip them off from your hands.

West Coast Market Square has numerous good hawker stalls and one of them is this duck rice, kway chap stall. I like kway chap that is darker in colour which means that the ingredients were well braised and absorbed the gravy. This stall definitely has it and the kway was silky and smooth too.To get here, alight at Clementi MRT station, take bus 189 from the bus stop at exit B. West Coast Market Square is only two bus stops away.
