I got this piece of durian mooncake as a gift, think it's some charcoal-skin durian mooncake. Packaging was nice and each piece individually packed in a tiny styrofoam box. The durian mooncake was heavenly - slightly icy but the interior is smooth and moist. The durian was extremely rich and very fragrant. The snow skin complemented the mooncake well, was thin and a little velvety.

I was shopping with my mother for mooncake. This particular one caught our attention. It was a black snow skin with durian as filling. The assistant was telling us that the black layer of snow skin is made of charcoal. This is definitely something new to me. I could taste the real durian in the filling and i could smell that irresistible smell of durian too. I was asked to store in the freezer to preserve it.

Frankly speaking, I find the taste of this durian mooncake no different from the charcoal skin durian mooncake or the regular snowskin one. I got a snow skin top grade x. o. durian mooncake. If you were to blindfold me, I would not have thought that this was any different from their normal D24 durian mooncake. Bought this Snow-Skin D24 Black Durian Mooncake with my friend at the annual Takashimaya Mooncake Fair instead of their actual outlet. The normal price for a box of 4 pieces of this mooncake cost $54 while it cost $48.60 at the fair. I actually haven't heard of this brand until my friend strongly recommended me to try it. This Black gold 100% durian mooncake from Home' s Favorite is yummy! The durian paste reminded me of the durian puree I once had in Sheraton Towers that got me hooked on to durians. This mooncake looks horribly ugly on the outside but taste amazingly heavenly. Through the smoothness of it's durian paste, I could occasionally taste durian chunks. Selling for $52 / 4 pieces
