I love the dessert in this place! It is my first time trying a hot dessert instead and I ordered red bean paste with soybean pudding! You can choose black sesame or almond paste with the soybean pudding too! It tasted really well when you mix it well. Red bean paste is not that sweet.

Sheng Kee Dessert is well-known with its mango dessert. I ordered Mango Pomelo Sago Fettuccine @S$5.90. Ordering and payment is required to made on the spot at the ordering counter. Upon placing order, we were given the waiting number for our dessert to be served.The mango pomelo tasted sweet and has a rich mango flavor which I think it is quite consistent in terms of the quality of serving from other branches.My friend ordered Snow Fungus Papaya @S$3.60. My friend ordered Snow Fungus Papaya @S$3.60. The waiting time was more than 15 minutes. The staff did highlight to us upon ordering and check whether are we willing to wait or not. I think this is good at least the customers are aware of the waiting time. The dessert tasted sweet with the papaya taste with generous snow fungus.

Sheng Kee Dessert is probably the only place selling traditional chinese desserts in the whole of raffles city, so I decided to drop by after dinner to get some desserts. I got the common mango pomelo sago, after browsing through their menu which has other desserts like glutinous rice, mango pudding, etc. It is hard to go wrong with this choice, mango bits were evident, but could do with more pomelo bits. It is also a little too sticky, best to eat after the ice has melted.

The Sheng Kee Cafe in the middle of Raffles City's busy food hall at B1 is a tad stuffy with tables and stools closely arranged, so it is a 'eat and be gone' type of place. We wanted our dessert fix on the cheap so Sheng Kee is a better alternative than the self serviced food court. We wanted our dessert fix on the cheap so Sheng Kee is a better alternative than the self serviced food court. There are three items at promo prices this month - all featuring the buttery nutty avocado. We settled on the Avocado Float ($3.80+ or $4.10 after GST) and the Avocado Shake ($3.30+ or $3.55 after GST).

The Avocado Float was attractively presented in a black bowl topped with what looked like a small scoop of vanilla ice cream but turned out to be a coconut milk sorbet. This was excessively sweet - on par with traditional Indian desserts, so we had to asked for ice cubes to dilute the green paste that was supposed to be avocado puree but had no taste of the rich creamy fruit. I guess Sheng Kee used mass produced frozen avocado puree, and used sparingly little of it in both the Float and the Shake. My idea of a milkshake is a thick and filling fluid but the Avocado Shake served at Sheng Kee was more like Avocado Freeze. Since it was a very hot afternoon and the aircon at Raffles City B1 was rather muted, we found the Avocado Freeze very light and refreshing, despite its blandness. Just as well since we were still recoiling from the sugar overload caused by the Avocado Float. We will order the drink again if we drop by but not the Avocado Float.

The place was crowded and we managed to get seats after a while. My first time here and I go for the signature dessert, Mango Pomelo. It was okay. It was very sweet, from the first till the last mouthful. The mango fragrance was very strong but because it was so sweet, it made me wonder what kind of syrup was used to make it. I guess it was good that the bowl wasn't that big?
