Ippudo at westgate is a new launch featuring causual dining experience while enjoying a bowl of fuss free authentic ramen.Furnishings were standard throughout their branches with similar theme colors too.Though the place was rather small, there was a lot of helpers around at your service. We started off with an appetizing nikumiso toufu salad, dressed with their their special minced meat miso paste drenched with sesame dressing. Totally love its chilled wobbly toufu!Satiate my cravings for something fried and tangy, the Chicken was deepfried and marinated, dipped in their homemade sauce. The basic version of all gyoza in the menu, comes 5 on a kidney bean plate, these Ippudo homemade dumplings were pan-fried and complemented well with a dip in the black vinegar. Our original intention was to have all 3 kinds of buns in their menu, unofortunately the shrimp bun was sold out and we were left with the chicken and the pork. The chicken thigh meat was teriyaki base and chopped into smaller pieces and stuffed into the bun. Bun was steamed to soft texture with Ippudo's original charshu and their original sauce. When everyone talks about Ippudo, the first thing that comes to our mind is none other than its attention drawing Ramen. Their noodles is known for its springy texture and deep flavours, boiled to al dente according to the softness/hardness that we prefered.A class Hakata Style ramen, Ippudo's original tonkotsu broth served with their thin noodles, bara char shu (pork belly), kikurage, spring onions and cabbages. There was a series of suggested combination on the menu and we chose tamago (egg). A level up from the previous bowl of ramen with unami-dama (their special blended miso paste) and garlic oil. It is of a modern style ramen served with pork belly, black fungus and spring onions. One of their featured ramen, the spicy black. With Ippudo's original pork broth with special nikumiso, prepared with black pepper and shansho as well as other spices. For once, the spiciness of eating ramen finally kicks in. They are enhanced with their spicy fragrant oil - made from their original and spicy koyu.Apart from the sides and out of the 3 kinds of noodles ordered, I still prefer the bare basic of the Hakata style ramen in its original broth. Service was very prompt till the extent that once they see an empty or almost emptied bowl / plate, they will ask if it can be cleared off which in turn made us feel that they are somehow hinting us that there are long queues outside. If you want to have some good taste of Ramen, Ippudo is a good choice, however, it is not an ideal place where you can sit, chill and catchup with friends on chats.

This was my first time at West gate's ippudo! I have ordered the signature ippudo ramen, and what I like about the restaurant is that I am able to choose my texture of noodles to be soft medium or hard. I have chosen soft and the noodles were really soft and chewy. The soup is even nicer! I absolutely love the chicken broth soup. It is so tasty that I finish the entire soup. The char siew were good too. Tender and soft. And last but not least, the egg is soft and nicely done. I love Japanese ramen egg, they rarely disappoint me.Overall, it is a pleasant dining experience here. However, do be prepared to queue especially during peak meal hour.

Ippudo has always been one of my favourite ramen outlets in Singapore. I especially love their soup base which is exceptionally rich and refined Shiromaru ($14++)The soup base exudes a hint of buttery fragrance that was really flavourful and delicious. We could also taste the natural sweetness of fish stock which further proofed the quality of ingredients used to brew this heavenly concoction. The noodles were semi-firm and chewy and topped with Char Siu (good balance of both fats and lean meat) which were well braised and literally melted in our mouths.Tofu Salad ($8++)A light starter to whet our appetites. The ponzu with sesame dressing was refreshing and appetising. The meat sauce was also a perfect complement to spice up this salad.Do be prepared to queue up for at least 20-30 mins during the lunch and dinner peak periods. However, the wait is definitely well rewarded.

Was attracted by the nice and neat restaurant environment in this restaurant and decided to check out the food here. Have bought the spicy tonkotsu ramen at $15, which is consider quite affordable. The noodles are very chewy and portion is generous as well. The spicy miso paste in the broth certainly has make the soup very tasty and flavourful. The thinly sliced pork belly are very chewy and not oily, which is also very juicy. Service here was alright and can be even better with more greetings.

Queued for nearly half an hour here on a weekday night just to eat the awesome ramen! The soup is really good and you can choose to add some ingredients at an extra price. The ramen here is chewy and I ordered medium cooked. Service is good too and people here are super friendly.
