If you are looking for some comfort food, this is the stall to be at. The Hainese porridge is flavorful and filled with lots of ingredients. You can choose from chicken/pork with/or sliced fish/cuttlefish. Often, the uncle will ask if you want to add egg (chicken egg or century egg). The serving is very generous. For a small eater like myself, a small potion often seems way too much for me to stomach. Do prepare to wait at least 20-30 minutes if you patronize the stall during breakfast and lunch.Hahaha, if you are like my colleagues and I, we often go for the most sinful option which is to ask the uncle to add both egg and century egg.

They are open as early as 6 plus in the morning. This means no excuse to miss out on your breakfast for this big bowl of hot congee. The portion is really quite a lot to have in the morning, very value for money meal. The congee is the very traditional kind of teochew congee, very soft.

this coffeeshop has it's quiet times but during lunch and breakfast, you will probably have to wait like me for an approximate 20 minutes for a good bowl of congee.The you tiao is crispy and the congee has fine texture. The stall is rather generous with ingredients judging from the prices charged. Worth the long wait if you are in the mood for a hot bowl of congee!

At $2.50, this is very much worthwhile. The congee is filled to 95% of the entire bowl. Texture of the congee is just nice, not too water or starchy. Along with the generous amounts of meat and, some you tiao by the side and raw egg, it more or less encompasses a well overall for a typical congee. The plus side, the price of $2.50 is inclusive or exclusive of egg, but you will have to pay more for the century egg though.
