Introduction
Led by the internationally renowned award-winning Group Executive Chef Fung Chi Keung, Kai Duck by Kai Garden introduces modern diners to a refreshingly new concept in contemporary Cantonese casual dining.
In keeping with the faster-paced lifestyle adopted by today’s millennials, Chef Fung’s innovations with his Cantonese-style roast duck is a classic example of this thinking, together with other innovative dishes that can now be enjoyed by parties as small as two.
Although the restaurant prides itself in its more casual, relaxed atmosphere, the ambience never-the-less evokes the decadence of an emperor’s courtyard, which is juxtaposed with its central location on the 5th floor of Ngee Ann City on Orchard Road.

Stepping into Kai Duck at Ngee Ann City felt like a mini trip to 1960s Hong Kong. I couldn’t resist trying their Signature Peking Duck, and wow! The skin was perfectly crisp, the meat juicy, and every bite just melted in my mouth. I also grabbed a Peking Duck Salad Hand Roll, which was playful and packed with flavor. The Wok-Fried Hot Pot Panda Rice with diced abalone was aromatic and comforting, served sizzling in its claypot. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the vibe was relaxed yet stylish. A must-visit if you love duck done right with a modern twist.

Had lunch at Kai Duck in Orchard and was pleasantly surprised. The Duck Fried Rice was fragrant and packed with wok hei, every bite shiok. Not to mention, their Peking duck salad hand roll, wah that's the real deal, the flavours compliment each other so well. Service was fast and polite, and the space felt modern yet cosy. Prices are a bit premium, but for quality duck dishes in a central location, I say still worth the treat.

I visited Kai Duck at Ngee Ann City and found their modern Cantonese twist on Peking duck really shiok. Started with the Peking Duck Salad Hand Roll—crunchy corn cracker cone filled with juicy duck, cucumber and sesame sauce, very satisfying. Tried the Sliced Peking Duck with Crackers too—the skin crispy and fatty layer melted in the mouth. Also had the Pan fried Carrot Cake which was crispy outside, soft inside and drizzled with chilli sauce, quite addictive. The staff were so welcoming and engaging as they were very proactive in refilling water, asking if we need anything else and being initiative in helping my table to rush the food if we looked like we were waiting for a long time. Overall, I really love the experience I had there as the not only the food is good but the service was also awesome, would definitely keep going back there to eat.

It’s the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and you just want to keep coming back for more.
