Introduction
KOI Cafe was established in 2006 and came to Singapore in 2007. The first outlet in Singapore was in Toa Payoh. Most of the ingredients used in the making of the drinks are imported from Taiwan, in a bid to bring the authentic taste of Taiwanese milk tea to locals. continue reading

Koi has a new addition to its range of toppings, namely the mini yam. I have stopped taking pearls and usually only choose grass jelly or aloe Vera as topping. Wondering how yam would complement my Oolong milk tea instead of the usual grass jelly, I ordered it with mini yam.The yam pieces were indeed mini. It was quite good, so QQ and chewy. But, from its texture, I would think it is made with glutinous powder or some kind of starch rather than being just pure yam alone. So I gotta be wary of its calories 😣Anyway, I would think it is a better tasting option than pearls. It has the mild sweetness of Taro and the chewy QQ addictive texture. continue reading

KOI Cafe has a latest outlook in Westgate, the new shopping mall. It's modern and sleek design furnishing with a big panel to display its latest news and advertisements. Customers now do not have to stand by the side of the counter while waiting for their drinks as they have a long bench by the side to for the customers while watching the LED queue display. Oolong Macchiato with 50% sugar level was semi sweet and has a distinct oolong taste. The creamy milk layer from the macchiato had given the light oolong taste additional flavour by adding sweetness into the cup of beverages.Service from the crews were efficient and friendly.Cost: $2.40 continue reading

Ordered a cup of hazelnut milk tea to try as it was the best seller. A medium cup with pearls costs $3.20. I had mine without pearls so that I could fully enjoy the milk tea. The first few sips tasted weird as it was my first try but it got better after a few sips. 25% of sugar level was already sweet enough probably because of the hazelnut. If you want to try something new other than the usual milk tea, get this! continue reading
