i was shopping around jurong point with a friend when we got really hungry. We decided to head over to lai lai causal dining for some light afternoon snack. We decided to order a ala carte yan shu ji since posb and dbs cards got 10 percent discount. Their yan shu ji is really delicious, the chicken is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. It was seasoned really well as well. Totally awesome afternoon snack. The portion was quite a lot too. It really did satisfy our hunger.

I am quite disappointed with the food here. I nearly wanted to give it a negative feedback but on account of their side dish which is the minced meat tofu and their red milk bubble tea which I might go back and buy again so I give it a ok, average rating. Luckily, their minced meat tofu is exceptionally yummy. Also, must try their hot red milk bubble tea. We are so used to drinking icy cold bubble tea, but their hot bubble tea is a thumbs up from me.

Decided to give this "Lai Lai casual dining" a try as happened to pass by Jurong Point. Ordered the curry rice set lunch set. You can have three choices, either pork, chicken or fish. I choose the latter. Well, portion was considered generous with freshly fried fish, rice and yellow pickles. Enjoyed the curry,it was not spicy and taste nice. However, there's was houseflies flying around and it really gets on my nerve. Busy chasing away the flies and rushing to eat my food before they(flies) happe

Will have second thought of dining there again

As for the stew beef, the beef itself was very tender and the beef will break into smaller parts once you put it into your mouth. However, I do not like the gravy that comes with it beacause it was too peppery. Service was so so. Got their card and saw that there is one outlet at Nex. I will give Nex's outlet a try soon.

there was once my friend and i ordered green milk tea and red milk tea. apparently they served the green milk tea and the red milk tea was still missing when we were halfway into the meal. upon checking with the waitress, she found out that her colleague accidentally delivered our red milk tea to the next table. the waitress politely checked with the customer if they had drank the milk tea. the customer declined drinking the drink and she brought the drink back to the counter. as the counter was visible to all at the restaurant, we could see how they dealt with the drink. she got her other colleague to deliver that drink to our table!!! the drink that was left on someone's table for about 10 mins, who knows wad went in, was served to us!!! how unhygienic can they be... we rejected that drink and insist on having a new cup. they brought the cup back and got us a new drink. that drink was still not dispose, sorry whoever who got it...

For the main dish, i'll usually order mee sua (vermiceli), and salted chicken for the side dish. It makes a perfect simple lunch or dinner for me especially when it's the dearest taiwanese cuisine! Although quality of the mee sua is incomparable to the Taiwan's original, the food is considered good for its reasonable pricing.

If you are looking for taiwanese nibbles, you can just order side dishes like fried squid, cold tofu. For dessert, i recommend the egg tou hua with pearl.

Finally I got to try the food in Lai Lai... was seated within 5 minutes though there was a short queue in front of me. The menu was nicely done up and there are quite a selection of food for you to choose from..

There are 2 type of set meals which allows you to mix and match a little. It comes with a main dish, a side dish and a drink. To play safe, I chose the most standard Mee Sua and my friend chose Lu Rou Fan for our main dish.. as for the side dish, we had the pork slices and saba fish. The meal ended with a big glass of bubble tea!

Besides that, we ordered a plate of Cong Tou Ping! This is really yummy!!! A must try / have when you visit the restaurant! It's cheese and pork floss wrapped in prata... the cheese melted in the prata and the pork floss added sweetness to the dish!

The service staff was prompt and friendly! Ambience was ok as it is an open space, only worry will be people tossing litter from level 2...

I will be back soon...
