Marble Slab Creamery originated from Houston, Texas in 1983. Although it does not offer exotic local ice cream flavours such as D24 durian, Mao Shan Wang durian, Kaya Toast and etc, their ice cream is still rich and creamy freshly made daily in small batches in their central creamery. What makes Marble Slab Creamery different from the other ice cream shops is their Mixins or Mix-in. Basically they are toppings but aren't toppings because they get mixed into the ice cream. After selecting your toppings, the staff will flatten the ice cream on the cold table top and mix them into the ice cream. From what I read, the technique is called the "Frozen Slab" Each Mixin cost a dollar. I chose Reese Peanut Butter Cup Mixin for my Chocolate Swiss flavour ice cream. continue reading

This is the Bella Milk Shake which is blended Sweet Cream flavour ice cream with Granola. It cost $6.50 for the Star size, which is quite a small cup. I find it rather pricey for that size. It is not the thick kind of milk shake where you have difficulty sucking from the straw. The sweetness is just right for me and the added Granola gives it a crunchy and chewy texture. continue reading

I chanced upon this joint since we were looking for some dessert and preferably ice cream. We had never try this before so we ventured but it was disappointing. We had the mango and the chocolate. Although the ice cream was creamy, the taste of both the chocolate and the mango was not intense at all. There was more milky taste and both were too sweet. It will be my first and my last time eating here as I do not like it at all. continue reading
