For mains, *Micaela had the Half Spring Chicken (SGD$13.00) - half day Whiskey marinated spring chicken with grain mustard and fresh herbs, served with sweet potato fries and mseclun salad. I didn't really like the fries because they were too sweet for my liking. The spring chicken, however, boosted of a slightly crispy, paper-thin skin bursting under the pressure of the knife to unravel succulent and juicy flesh, infused tastily with Whiskey's distinctive flavour.

I chose the Irish Lamb Stew (SGD$17.00) - succulent casserole stewed lamb, summer vegetables and boiled potato. The gravy was rather thick and mildly sweet in flavour; pooling very soft and powdery potatoes, carrots and peas. The lamb was firm but not hard, but not the most tender I've tried; a little chewy. There was no gamey taste; it was a classic red meat flavour that was pleasant enough but wouldn't sweep you off your feet.

Then we shared a Chocolate Guinness Cake (SGD$10.00) - decadent Guinness infused rich chocolate cake that had a firm, sticky texture and a hard base. There was no lava centre, either that, or it didn't flow. The taste was a rich, dark chocolate in nature, with a subtle bitterer hint of Guinness; the harder base was even richer in chocolate-and-stout combination. It was pretty good a dessert actually.

We were on our way to Bugis Junction when we chance upon Molly Roffey – a laid back tavern located amidst a quiet neighbourhood along Bras Basah road. The beef was pretty average despite the nice presentation. The quality of the meat was something you would expect from coffee shop standards. It was quite tough and a little on the salty end. Despite the peanuts price tag, the portion was surprisingly big enough to last you till dinner.

Molly Roffey's is a pub but serves affordable set lunches during the day, which costs around $9.90 for a main dish, soup and drink. You'll have about 4 different mains to choose from. I tried the mushroom and cheese sandwich, which is simply mushrooms and melted cheese sandwiched in between focaccia bread. Simple and light meal which cannot go wrong. Particularly liked the shoestring fries that comes together.

My first try at an Irish pub. The ambience is as I expected - dim and cozy with loads of wooden furniture and a bar area. There is a live band section too. This is their signature steak which I find to be disappointing. The steak was pounded super thin and wasn't filling at all. Plus I ordered the steak to be medium rare and it came out to be more like medium well. My friend who actually ordered medium well found her steak to be super tough. Skip this dish and maybe stick to finger foods. Their

Their pumpkin soup was nice though! Creamy and sweet, I could eat another bowl! Plus the piece of toasted garlic bread was so good when dipped into the soup.

Will be a place i come often i guess when i wan some decent dinner at night with a good live band. =)

Came here to try their set lunch which is $9.80 nett. This is quite cheap as compared to many other places nearby. Was looking for a place to eat and have some drinks close to home and remembered I never came by to Molly Malone's.

Was with a fren and bf and we ordered food to share instead of individual dishes.. We ordered the bbq chix thin crust pizza which was surprisingly good and substantial! chicken chunks were aplenty and was not frustratingly thin such that u are not satisfied at all. =)

We also ordered bangers and mash to share and they were even quite great to ask if we wanted them to cut it up for sharing. I dun usually like pork sausages but it was tasty and not too salty or porky. Sauce was pretty yummy and went quite well with the mash and small side salad.

The wings were a disappointment in terms of both taste and size.. It was supposed to be Buffalo wings and grilled wings together.. So it came in a small plates with 2 small drumlet and 4 wings... and the buffalo wings were small! Taste was so so as the skin was not fried but rather coated with the sauce only..

However, I think the price was quite reasonable for a place like this.. bangers and mash was about $11, the pizza was $14 and wings was $8 (the most not worthy of the lot).

Environment wise u had 2 big screens for sports watching and live band.. atmosphere was casual and not too crowded even on a friday. Will go back again, even for food!
