Nana Green Tea is offering a promotional weekday set lunch combo from 11am to 2.30pm. You get to choose a main course and a beverage (priced $8 and below) at only $13.90! This is a super good deal, considering the fact that most of their mains are priced $13 and above! I was there around 12pm and the restaurant is very spacious and quite empty, however customers started strolling in after awhile and the place got more packed. As usual being a salmon lover, the Salmon Maguro Don instantly caught my attention! It is a mixture of salmon and tuna sashimi! The sashimi slices were so fresh and tasty and it is served over warm rice topped with sesame oil, nori, pickled ginger, spring onion and a drizzle of mayonnaise sauce. It also comes with a side serving of sesame sauce to pour over the salmon maguro don.

Being a matcha lover and as the restaurant name suggest that matcha is their specialty, obviously I had to order a matcha drink! There were so many choices to choose from and I decided on the Matcha Chocolate latte! It comes with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Perfect bittersweet combination! Besides matcha drinks, there is also a wide range of hojicha and azuki drinks to choose from! The Azuki Kuromitsul is like a red bean latte topped with whipped cream and brown sugar syrup. Not bad but I still have a preference for matcha flavoured ones!

The Mabushi Don comprises of unagi, nori and spring onions garnished over a bed of warm Japanese rice. After salmon, unagi ranks second! I especially like the sweet sauce glazed over the slices of unagi. I love the ambience, food, pricing and service! Definitely coming back here for more!!

Love the Steamed Chicken Salad - $6.80 lots! Generous portion of shredded steam chicken was decorated on top of a wholesome crunchy vegetables which includes shredded lettuce, cucumbers and cherry tomato with sesame salad dressing and sprinkles of vinegar.

Meat is indeed very tender coated with generous spread of yakitori sauce and decorated with leeks by the side. If one didnt tell me that I'm having Yakitori - $5.80, I would thought that I was actually having frog's legs.

Bet that after a cup of Nana's Green Tea - $9, you will forget all the over sweetened Green Tea lattes available from Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Their green tea are imported from Kyoto and tastes fresh especially when it carries a bit of bitterness with right amounts of sweetness. Paired with 2 white little rice balls and a ball of Azuki (Red Bean) Paste with whipped cream by the side. This sums up my unforgettable green tea experience. Cool and I will be back for more!

Quite a number of restaurants has adopted the wireless technology technique by placing a device on the table allowing customer to indicate the type of service "Press for Service / Bill". With such implementation, it eliminate the hassle between customers and the helpers, thus increase the job efficiency.

It is not too sweet and I really like how the matcha flavor is. Not too overpowering but at the same time fragrant. Enjoyed a lot having that!

For those whose tastebuds are attuned to the over-sweetened Starbucks latte or mass-produced green tea milk, the Matcha Latte ($7) would not be your cuppa of drink. But I liked this brew as it did not go crazy with sugar. It was slightly bitter and milky, with a dark green suspension of foam sitting above the liquid.

From the chilled drinks selection, the Matcha Slushy Shiratama ($9-above pic) is a matcha slushy topped with matcha ice cream and mochi. It might be good to allow the ice crystals to thaw before enjoying the "slurry" texture or your taste buds may be too numbed to taste anything. Alternatively, go straight for the Matcha Shiratama Float ($9) which is similar but more of a milkshake than a frozen drink.

Like any other cafe, Nana green tea also serves savoury food such as sushi rolls, rice bowls and udons. The Salmon Cream Sauce Udon ($14.80) came with firm chewy udon swimming in a pool of soupy cream. I always wished there were more sauce for carbonara-style pasta but not this time as the amount was more than sufficient. Had one-third left after pasta was done.

The best dish of the day was none other than their specialty matcha desserts--Parfaits. Like many others, I am often guilty of comparing Japanese food in Singapore to those in Japan. But the huge parfaits here were pure decadence, and admittedly better than Kyo Hayashi.

Starting from a brownie-like green tea cake that looked like this cake from Japan, the red bean paste and delicate whipped cream, I conquered happily into matcha and vanilla ice cream, colliding occasionally with crunchy cornflakes. Stranded in sweetness, there was no end so to speak, until I reached the bottom of kanten jelly with matcha syrup. Every ingredient was fresh, especially the chewy kanten jelly that was unlike factory-made lego blocks.

I personally prefer the Houjicha Parfait $13.80 as the roasted nutty flavors intensified with every spoonful. Similar to the previous parfait but drenched in houjicha syrup and topped with houjicha chocolate gateaux, this dark brown dessert might be less eye-catching but equally stellar.

Overall, Nana's Green Tea excels in what it specializes; and that is green tea drinks and desserts. Their Uji Premium Matcha has an adult taste suitable for those who wish to sip an authentic pot of bitter brew. And for those who can't resist having sweets to end their meal, the giant Parfaits here cannot be missed.

The soft boil egg was seducing me to suck it, beef patty covered with savoury sauce was yummy, and yes I gobbled up all the veg. The taste was very similar to what I had at Aloha Bugis+. As such, although the taste was consider good, but there wasn't any excitement for me.

Hairy Arms Monster (le hubby) finally came. He was too bloated to have dinner, so we shared dessert.

ice cream here at nana's green tea is really just delicious. tried their best seller ice cream and there is only one word to describe it. SHIOK!!! love the green tea matcha ice cream and the red bean paste. The mocha balls added also adds a nice chewiness to the ice cream and the green tea jelly at the bottom of the glass adds a different, lighter texture to this great treat. Love it and would be going back for more!

If you like matcha green tea, then you should try Nana's Green Tea. We ordered the Matcha Green Tea and my god, it was divine. The matcha taste was the strongest I ever tasted, and full of tasty healthy goodness (green tea is known for its health properties). It was not the least diluted, unlike other places that also serves green tea lattes. There seems lots of nice desserts. Will be back to try more.

Word of caution though - prices are subject to GST even though it's a takeaway drink

As it was my first time giving it a try, I decided to go for just something basic yet unique - Matcha Float, which is green tea with green tea ice cream, from the takeaway kiosk.

Matcha Float. Separately, the green tea itself was thick and slightly bitter, while the ice cream was creamy and slightly sweet. But fret not, because when you mix it up together, it becomes a perfect combination -- thick and creamy but not too sweet, with a strong distinct green tea flavour. It was not overwhelming at all, I can just gulp down the whole cup and feel really satisfied.

My first experience at this place was really good.
I find the prices a tad expensive for green tea, but I guess it's fair because the quality lives up to it.
I'd love to go back again, but only when I'm feeling rich.
My small cup of Matcha Float was originally $8.50, but came up to $9+ after GST.

Besides having just green tea desserts, they served some main dishes too like udon, sushi and katsu don. They also has a selection of appetizers like salad.
We ordered a ebi katsu don, prawn broccoli salad, tamago teriyaki sushi and a green tea dessert.
The ebi katsu don was delicious, the ebi is crisp on the outside and succulent. The curry was full of flavour too, something one wouldn't expect to taste at a green tea heaven.
The prawn broccoli salad was a tad too salty, although I really love the prawns, they were big, fat and succulent.
The sushi was alright, I didn't really like the rice of the sushi, the rice was lacking of some flavour expected in sushi.

The dessert was just superb and awesome. Rich matcha, a full scoop of sweet and smooth red bean by the side. Slurps! The dessert was so good that we ordered another one, but this time round is another flavour, hojicha. It came with a chocolate cake. Well, the hojicha wasn't as good as the green tea, but it is yummy too. Personally, all my heart has gone to matcha.

Please do visit if you're a matcha, no disappointments, just full of surprises
