Dinner at Old Town white Coffee with my girlfriend. I decided to try their Minced Chicken Rice ($7.20). I must warn those who do not take chilli that this dish is a little on the spicy side. The minced chicken is a little to salty to be eaten alone. The rice is not the ordinary white rice, I tasted some chicken rice flavor in it. There is a fried egg on top of the dish as well. the egg is sunny side up, I like the yolk oozing out onto the rice.

Old Town Coffee is one of my favourite restaurants to eat at because of its old quaint charm interior décor. Service
As usual, the service is not so really good nor bad. When we reached, they just asked table for how many and pointed us to an empty seat and handed us the usual order form and menu. The food was served promptly and generally nice. You have to pay for your bill at the counter.

Food
For an afternoon tea, we ordered Toast with Ice-Cream and Spring Rolls. One hot and one cold dish, which is actually quite a funny combination but nevertheless yummy.

Toast with Ice-Cream gives me a really old-school feeling, with the usually sinful feeling of eating really crunchy bread with (actually quite normal) vanilla ice-cream. It is filling and I really feel very happy eating it. However, it was really quite difficult to eat because the ice-cream melts quite fast and the crumbs from the toast drop everywhere. If you’re eating with your friends or family, it’s probably still okay but definitely not with someone you want to impress.

The Spring Rolls were a bit disappointing in comparison, not in terms of taste but in the portion. There were 5 of them, which makes it difficult to split and a bit not worth the price. Each of them was quite tiny and I feel like I got cheated… however, the spring rolls are still quite delicious and crispy to the bite.

Ambience
As usual Old Town Coffee’s ambience is quiet and relaxing, the way I like it. Even though the food is not that satisfying, Old Town is still my choice mostly for the peaceful environment. However, Old Town usually gets full very easily and we quickly got out when there was a queue outside.

Price
As previously mentioned, the price is too steep for the portion served. Seriously, it is quite outrageous to ask for so much and the fact that it is delicious hardly made up for the price they are asking for. They should either increase the portion or decrease the price. It makes me think twice about going back there because it is really quite expensive and there are other cheaper options around Jurong Point.

i went to old town white coffee to have a drink with my friend. As it just past lunch time, I was not too hungry so I just got myself a drink instead. I got myself their iced lemon tea. it was very refreshing. The tea itself was not too sweet. it had some lipton tea fragrance. they added a slice of lemon into the drink. the drink got no lemon taste unless you use your straw to poke the lemon. This allows you to decide how sour you want your drink to be.

i went to old town white coffee at jurong point for lunch. It was pretty crowded but luckily we did not wait too long to get seated. I ordered their nasi lemak. I did not wait too long for the food to be served. Their nasi lemak is really delicious. The rice is so fragrant. the chicken was deep fried till very crispy but the meat was still very tender and juicy. the sambal chilli was really good, not too spicy but went well with the rice.

This was my first time dining at old town, it seemed not bad to me before entering this restaurant because there were quite a lot of customers in and out. By looking at this photos that we had taken, the food still look as awesome to me! The nasi lemak are like other nasi lemaks at many nearbys. However, there’s some crispy cracker with it, and it taste fantastic with the rice. I love the sambal a lot !! It’s spicy and a little sweet. The cucumbers were very fresh and crunchy, the chicjen wing was cripsy and it all just taste so well inside my mouth. There’s no reason for me not to go back and grab myself another plate of this!! Although it's a little expensive, it's worth it !

This is the way coffees should be, it should be brewed at temperatures of around 85 degrees so as to preserve the full flavour of the coffee beans. I liked the coffee here as it is very smooth and full of flavour which is well balanced with sugar such that the sweetness level is just right.

Bought a set of the kaya butter toast and the nasi lemak for lunch with family. The toast is well made and toasted and has a light crispy texture. The toast is sufficiently spread with the kaya and added with a thick slice of the butter. The kaya has a nice aroma, not too sweet, just nice. As for the nasi lemak, the rice has a slight aroma, well cooked and has a soft texture, not too hard. The chicken is well cooked, soft and tender texture, well seasoned and has a slight crispy texture as well.

As for the hard boiled egg, it is well cooked, as the outer layer of the egg yolk was not grey in colour. Lastly, the chili has a mild spicy taste and goes well with the chicken and the rice. The presentation for the nasi lemak is quite appealing and presentable.

After sometimes, people started leaving the restaurant only did they bother to come to us and sit us down. NONE of their staff had smiles on their face. Come on, they are in the service line and all looked so sulky. Food came quite fast though, the flavours of my nasi lemak supreme and my girlfriend’s toast were there. my nasi lemak actually tasted good, rice were fragrant, rending chicken was very tender and fragrant. The sambal chilli was sweet and spicy. But the faces and attitudes of the staff really put us off.

I hope they do some retraining or hirer more cheerful staff. It does spoil the mood of the diners even before they stepped into the restaurant.

I was quite surprised that this place serves really good nasi lemak apart from their famous Ipoh coffee! Although a little pricey at about six dollars per serving, it is definitely worth the price because the serving and variety is huge. Look at the colour of the dishes on the plate, consisting of cucumbers, ikan bilis, egg, a chicken wing and some cracker, it definitely makes you appetized! The rice was grainy and the chili really made the whole dish very delicious. There were pieces of onions

I really enjoyed eating the chicken because it was very crispy and the batter was very flavourful. Coupled with a cup of coffee, this plate of nasi lemak was really a great choice for lunch!

only when someone got up to leave, then only they bothered to come to us. the thing was all the staffs were not busy at all, they just pretended we were not there.

i ordered their minced chicken rice. the chicken was a little spicy. it was qutie delicious. it came with an egg. but what is the point to have nice food but poor customer service? people would have walked off and won't even have a chance to taste their nice food.

Hope they do something about their service staff, especially THEIR MANAGER, who kept strolling past us and pretend never see us.

Considering that Old Town does not serve FREE plain water like all other restaurants do (they'll charge you $0.50 for it. Seriously.), it'll be more worth it to have a cup of coffee. It costs $2.50 for the cold ice white coffee and $2.20 hot white coffee. Do consider it if you're looking for a drink from Old Town. I personally don't think the cold coffee goes well with toast though.

I was pretty disappointed but I still recommend it because it does not taste so bad on normal days and timing. It is pretty hard to find good rendang chicken rice in Singapore and I consider Old Town's rendang chicken rice one of the best in Singapore. Do give it a try!

It is springy noodles (that's what they say. it is just instant noodles) with chicken meatloaf and egg. It is probably one of the cheapest main dish you can find on their menu at a low cost of $4.20. There's an alternative that has chicken sausage instead of meatloaf (meatloaf = ham).

The soup has a very unique taste. It does not taste like those instant noodles soup. It tastes like chicken soup that is very sweet. The noodles, as expected are regular instant noodles so no big deal. Overall, the dish is pretty average, just that the soup gives it a nice smell and strong flavouring.

If you're looking for an inexpensive main dish to eat at Old Town, this might be the dish for you. It is cheap and filling but don't expect too much of tastiness out of it. It is pretty average!
