At the MRT station, I notice quite a long queue outside the bakery. Turns out that the bakery has reduced in size. A new outlet has opened next to the bakery selling pau and spring onion pancake.Based on the crowd and what the kitchen is making, it seems that the pau is hot favourite of the outlet. There is 3 flavours : original, leek and cabbage. But only leek is available. The pau is very huge in size, bigger than my fist. Service is very fast, with the aunty packing each pau into each plastic bag, fresh from the steamer. The skin of the pau looks thick, but tastes great like the traditional steamed sponge cake, soft and spongy. The meat filling is quite tasty with leek and lean meat. It tastes quite strong of rice wine too. It is quite a great deal to find such a huge tasty pau that just costs $1.60 each. But too bad I could not even finish half of it. I will be back to try other flavours. continue reading
