So I was still hungry after dinner so I bought a chicken wing from this nasi lemak stall to try ($1.40). The chicken wing was already fried and left there so temperature was between cold to warm. The seasoning was rather flavourful and it was tasty even though the chicken wing was not crispy. Chicken was tender as well and it tasted good when eaten with the skin. It was however too salty for my liking. If it was less salty, the taste would be near perfect. When I used to work in a boutique in Orchard road being paid $7.50/hr as a part-time staff, I initially despaired over my lunch options because dining in town is usually on the more expensive side and I needed to figure out a way to eat good food at a price easy on my (slim) wallet. Thankfully, my co-workers brought me to Lucky Food Centre, located in Lucky Plaza (yes, a place that we usually don't venture into), that has a food court with reasonably priced dishes from about $3-6 a pop. One of favourite stalls is the River Valley Nasi Lemak, which sells, Nasi lemak with the various condiments from fried chicken wings to fish and curry vegetables.

A plate of Nasi lemak costs $3.50, and includes fragrant coconut rice, fried fish, egg omelette, otah, cucumber and the most important part, the chili sauce. I always make it a point to ask for extra chili sauce because it’s sweet and spicy and makes the dish so much more satisfying. The portions are also just enough but maybe a too little for those with larger appetites.

On the whole, I highly recommend this for an affordable and delicious meal in Town.

A colleague packet lunch for me. First impression when i open it up is the rice color, kind of look like chicken rice but its the coconut based taste still, i like. My set came with the drum stick, omelette and 1 ikan kuning. Pretty decent eat especially the chilli and the drum stick, quantity wise its a bit small though for a big man like me. They also serve different version like fish, chicken wing, prawns etc. My packet costs $3.80.

Lunch time crowd can be seen at this stall. So it should be nice wor.
They have alot of set meal for their nasi lemak.
I bought the one with drum stick. Cos I like the crispy skin of the chicken.
They come with egg, fish, Otek.... must ask them to add more of their chilli. The best.
Their rice is no white as they cook it with pandan leave. So you have some colour to your rice.
So if you really want to try, must come early before lunch time.
Cheer..Enjoy....Nasi Lemak Lover.....
