Beancurd is well liked by many. One of my favourite beancurd is from Rochor Beancurd place. Their beancurd has a silky and smooth texture which slips down your throat easily. The syrup accompanying the beancurd is not too sweet and not too bland. It accompanies the beancurd well. The place is a good place for friends and family to sit down together to enjoy a good bowl of dessert.

I will normally go to Rochor Beancurd after watching a movie at the cathay which is just a short walk away. As this place open until around midnight, it is a perfect place for a late night snack. The soya bean milk taste great but I will normally buy a you tiao and a bowl of cold Beancurd. I enjoy dipping the crunchy you tiao into the Beancu as it taste great.

Ordered their normal beancurd instead to go with butterfly and you tiao which is quite good too! At least both the butterfly and you tiao tasted fresh and crispy without "bad" oil smell. However it's a bit pricey @S$0.90 per piece of butterfly.

Their Beancurd is one of the best I've ever had. The texture is so smooth. I didn't know it was possible for a place to make it this smooth. And the sweetness is just right. I like sweet treats, but when they are too sweet, you can get sick of it really quickly. Too much of a good thing can get bad. But Rochor Beancurd really hits a good balance in its sweetness. Sweet enough to melt your tongue, but not too sweet to make you want to stop.

I really only like the hot one. The cold one just isn't too my taste. I feel that you don't taste the flavours as much with the cold one. Also, I find it strange to eat beancurd with you tiao, but alot of people seem to enjoy that. Also, it's only $1 Awesome food at an even awesomer price makes me real happy

Their soy milk is equally good. The texture is great- not grainy at all. Sweetness is perfect as well. $1

I decided to try their Egg Tart recently and.....was disappointed.

The filling was so-so, it wasn't that tasy but what was really bad was the texture. It was hard. I think it might have been the fact that it was not freshly baked, but nonetheless I expected better. Alot more expensive as well. $1.40

So overall, definitely recommend going to Rochor Beancurd for only their Beancurd and Soy Milk. But you might want to skip their egg tarts.

This is a great place to go for supper as they are opened till late at night. The bean curd they serve is soft and silky even when it is cold. I like my bean curd to be cold from the fridge, however the bean curd tends to harden and taste powdery. This is not the case for Rochor Bean curd. The bean curd taste as nice no matter it is served hot or cold. They have nice soya milk as well. It is made well and does not taste powdery like some other soya milk.

The you tiao here has a nicely crisp texture but a little expensive as compared to those from the neighborhood stalls. The soya beancurd here is rather sweet and if you do not have a sweet tooth or medically not able to take too sweet, it would be better to highlight upon making your order.

I enjoyed dipping my you tiao in the sugar syrup of the soya beancurd and let the you tiao soaked up the sweet syrup then eat it.

But, the soya bean drink is not too special. I would prefer the soya beancurd to soya bean drink anytime.

If you have yet to check out this place then you should do it and i bet you will enjoy this experience.

For a beancurd branding, I believe Rochor is one familiar name that doesn't need real introduction. Possibly the #1 beancurd in Singapore and also a great hit spot for supper. I like its smooth and silky texture without a powdery feel. At least it doesn't taste artificial. However they seem to be really generous with their syrup as most of their beancurd are prepacked these days, so you might want to ask for less syrup and they'd simply scoop a new one for you. Of course, this wouldn't make them

Of course, this wouldn't make them too happy as this would mean more work for them. Guess you'd just have to say 'thank you' to pacify. Their you tiao when freshly fried are really delicious too, warm and crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. But if you do see the ones which have been left on the shelf for some time(during weekday off-peak), you'd like to think twice, because it might just disappoint you with a cold, oil-reeking and tough dough.

Different timing might produce differentiation in products. Guess it's all about the crowd.

Aaaaaaaanyhow, back to topic, they serve the usuals:
Curry puff, filling goodness of potato and curry, so this is a snack you want to rely on when feeling not to hungry but want to munch on sth. Last time it was 80c, I think it has increased 10 or 20c more.

Red bean bun and salted bun is what you'd expect. If you get it fresh, then it's still crispy and warm, letting the sweet taste in, but don't rely too much on taste when it's been there for a while. They only smeared the red bean paste lightly so there's not too much filling... Salted bun is not too salty, so it's a good match with the sweet beancurd.

beancurd is very sweet. Back in my hometown beancurds are never sweet, it was spicy because it had the ginger sauce instead of sugar water like we get here. But tastewise it's silky and smooth! because it's sweet, so I usually pair it up eating salted bun or egg tarts!

Butterfly is sweet with a dash of sesame on top, so you get a bit of crunch with an ooze of sweetness.

Youtiao is more or less not consistent depending on is it newly fried or not. It's crunchy and has a slight hint of taste, but when it's a bit cool it's dries out leaving no taste and warmth. ask for a new one if you don't like it! (if the place is not full as well,
)

One more tip! I usually pair the sweet beancurd with drinking cincau (the black one) or vice versa. It tastes great and much more healthier too!
