My mother bought home some pao from old airport road hawker centre. We bought their custard flavour, coffee and tau sar flavoured. One pao was really small and I ate three pao before I was full. The custard one was pretty good, the pao was light and fluffy, the filling was just right not too much and the sweetness was just right. There were some corns in it which added somemore sweetness to it. The coffee one was not too impressive, it was a little bland and did not really have the coffee fragra

we've learned our lesson and will only have takeaways in a box, not a plastic bag as the pastry of the buns here do not hold up well in a steamy wet plastic bag. the vegetable bun was pretty good. much better than the ones at ho kee. the pastry here is very soft as well. their lotus buns are good as well. would not recommend the custard bun as it's got corn in it to fill it out, which makes it not really just a custard bun and should be called a corn custard bun.

this time we had our buns in a box instead of in the plastic bag as their pastry do not hold well when there is steam in the bag. if you get it in the plastic bag, the pastry starts getting mushy and messy and sticking to the bag, and falling to bits. the pink longevity bun with lotus filling is great. it tends to be very sweet but it looks cute and the pastry is soft and nice if it has been transported in a box and not a plastic bag. the buns are not made there but are brought in by a truck...

The lotus buns here are nice - close to traditional original lotus paste buns. Not too sweet and very generous with the fillings. It's $0.60 for a lotus bun. The pastry holds up well if you ventilate it and not allow the steam to wet it. The coffee bun is a new thing and it costs $0.70. While the pastry has good texture and holds up well and the filling is generous, the taste is not there. There is no real coffee taste and it looks just like darker lotus paste. Nothing special with the coffee bu

Setting - can't miss, right at the front of the hawker centre steps! Easy to locate. First stall!Value - a bit expensive as the buns here are all very small yet they cost the normal price of buns at coffeeshops. Nothing very special about these buns so not sure why they are so expenisve? They might compare themselves to D'Bun?Food - nice buns but sometimes they sell out really quickly. Their 3-in1 buns made of lotus, tau sar and egg yolks are very popular and sell out the fastest. It takes good.

Food - nice buns but sometimes they sell out really quickly. Their 3-in1 buns made of lotus, tau sar and egg yolks are very popular and sell out the fastest. It takes good. Other buns include the usual char siew, tau sar, lotus, coffee, custard, etc... They also have some dim sums available, such as siew mai, glutinuous rice, chicken glutinuous rice something, etc etc... All steamed and hot!

The buns are supposed to be made fresh daily. They taste fresh and they don't stick to the paper because they are so soft and the steam makes them a bit soggy. I like buns that don't stick to the paper!

The service is hit and miss, as somedays the staff are grumpy and they are really gruff. Most days they are pretty good. There's usually only 1 staff there to serve and during peak hours, it's very slow although they are doing their fastest.

Recommended for convenience and if you only buy a couple of buns, it's not too expensive. But you only get one or 2 bites out of each bun and they're gone! SO SMALL!
