Had my lunch in this Korean fast food restaurant in Jurong Point. Have bought their BBQ beef ramen ($7.90) with four side dishes ($1.90) and a regular cup of coke light ($1.00). The ramen is very chewy and portion was generous. The beef meats are very tender and juicy. Soup base was quite flavourful and not too salty as well. As for the side dishes, my favourite will be their kim chi which are very crunchy and fresh, and quite spicy which I love it. The dining environment was alright and co

The bowl's serving is quite big for one person.

Overall value for money for a korean 'fast food' treat.

"I Will Start Dieting When the World Runs Out of Ramen" is one of the quirky quotes Seoul Xpress displays on their shop front, which got me laughing to myself. It is the latest funky fast food restaurant hangouts that opened in Jurong Point, and as I took a peek at the menu, I thought it seemed to be on the affordable side. With every order at Seoul Xpress, you get a very pretty free packet of tissue paper (But that was not why I ordered twice). The first thing that caught my eye were their Mand

The first thing that caught my eye were their Mandoo (fried dumplings) that comes in 7 pieces - $4.50. It was sizzling hot when it arrived after about five minutes, and immediately I couldn't resist popping them into my mouth (and burnt my mouth in the process #facepalm). The dumpling skin was so crispy, yet not too oily. The fillings were meat-based and juicy, each piece consistent and well-done. Yummy!

The next thing that I ordered was the Beef Kalbi Ramen - $5.90 that was on promotion. The soup base is not thick enough for me, and slightly spicy too. The ramen felt like springy good instant noodles to me... well not too bad because I secretly adore instant noodles. The portion is pretty big, with an egg too. There was also a few pieces of seaweed in it.

Nothing too spectacular though, just filling and an "okay" standard.

As I was still feeling slightly peckish, I adventurously decided to order a random dessert on the menu, the Hotteok (Cinnamon Apple) - $1.90 which is a Korean pancake with fillings. I think it tasted more like bread rather than a pancake, the outer crust was only crunchy but a while and soon became tough-to-bite after about fifteen minutes.

The fillings were sweet and the sugar wasn't completely melted either. Not sure if it is supposed to be this way, but it was still an interesting try. However I'll probably stick with the usual ice-cream combination in future.

I think they might be quite short-handed as of now, it seems like the cashier is doubling up as the server too. There is also one manager and some kitchen staff. All of them are so polite and friendly, complete with cheerful smiles!

I guess it was because of my recent trip to Korea which caused me to set my expectations of Korean Fried Chicken too high. So when i came across Seoul Xpress, i decided to give it a try. I was a little disappointed with the chicken. I ordered their Garlic flavour. I found the garlic flavour a little too overwhelming for me. after a while it was a little too much for me and i stopped eating the crispy chicken skin and only eat the meat. the pieces were also pretty small, i found it a little pricey for the size i got. the set cost around $7.

i guess if i were to return, maybe i will give their rice and ramen a shot but not their chicken.

It was my first time trying Bibimbap and it was really nice! The beef was sweet and well marinated. I asked for the sauce to be placed separately as i did not like too much sauce overpowering the rice. However, for their side dish, their sushi was not really appetising but on a side note, the fried chicken was not bad.

Overall, their price was affordable and food is worth a try!

This cafe replaced the old haagen daz outlet which was tucked at a quiet corner of Jurong Point. My colleagues and I decided to pop by this place during lunch time to try it out. I ordered a teriyaki chicken rice set that came with 4 super spicy side dish. I am not a pro in eating spicy stuff, thus i would not recommend this dish to people who can't take spicy

Some might argue that the Bibimbap may not traditional enough as it is served in a plastic bowl, however the yellow plastic bowl was a practical design; holes that can be used as handles and slots to hold the chopsticks and in; genius! The illustration of the Chicken Bibimbap ($6.90 ala-carte; $9.80 as a set meal with 4 side dishes and a drink) on the menu board had all the carrots , mushrooms, meat egg, preserved vegetables and cucumber on it, while mine somehow was missing of the egg; probably my order got mixed up with the lady after me because she ordered the same dish but requested not to have the egg added. The rice was a bit too soft actually, and it made it harder to mix the sauce and the ingredients in because it was clumpy, coupled with the plastic bowl which was light and easily moved while mixing. Also, without the stone bowl that usually served in, there would not be any bit of charred rice in the bowl at all, something that I always loved in Bibimbap. The ingredients were pretty much fine, with the vegetables being crunchy and juicy and the mushroom being earthy enough. The fried shallots were pretty fragrant. The chicken was slightly bland on it’s own, though it was not too much of an issue since you are supposed to be mix with the sauce before eating. The chili paste here is quite moderately spicy. I have had Bibimbap that had the chili paste milder than the one served here, though many other places do serve chili paste way stronger than this one. While it was fine with me, this sauce could be considered pretty spicy to those who are not used to the level of spiciness of Korean chili pastes. Pretty decent for a fast-food standard.

Noodles were not as tasty as expected. As we know that korean ramen is similar to our so called "instant noodle", I noticed that not many of the customers did order ramen except us. The dish comes with thick korean rice cakes and tastes blend. Not very appetizing though.
