The store owner used to own Teck Hin Hor Fun in Ghim Moh till a few years ago when he sold the business. He now runs this congee stall that also sells steamed items such as Chee Cheong Fun and Glutinous Rice.I frequent this stall almost every weekend. My favorite orders are:- Chee Cheong Fun: Plain chee cheong fun steamed and the chef adds his fried garlic infused oil over it. Just eaten on its own, its tasty enough. You also get the usual brown sweet sauce and chilli on the side. You can opt for 2 or 3 rolls of chee cheong fun.- Glutinous Rice: This is very tasty and has dried shrimp and chinese sausage in it. Topped with fried shallots and fried peanuts Its very good!- Congee: The congee is very smooth, typical of the ones you eat at fine Cantonese restaurants. You have a choice of Century Egg with pork or Fish. Both are good. Its sold for $1.80 and really value-for-money!Highly recommended! continue reading

This stall is newly opened, by the same stall owner of the popular Teck Hin Fried Hor Fun stall on the opposite aisle. The uncle selling fruits mentioned to me that the porridge here is really nice and recommended me to try. I ordered my favourite combination of century egg and porridge ($3). The stall-owner cooks with care, slowly spooning in bits of minced meat into the porridge so that they end up like little meatballs. The congee itself is very smooth, quite thick and really tasty even on its own. Surprisingly, I was not too thirsty in the afternoon after my meal (that's the test to see if there's a lot of msg used), so I believe they used a proper stock to brew the congee instead of adding msg - commendable! The amount of pork and century egg used is quite a lot too. The pork was well-marinated and tender and the century egg used was of quite good quality as well. A good bowl of porridge that I will come back for again continue reading
