Whenever my family craves authentic Teochew cuisine, this is the place we always return to. We’ve tried other Teochew restaurants, but none come close to the standard here. Prices may be on the higher side, but the quality more than justifies it—they truly serve the best. This restaurant has been at the RELC building for a few years now, and parking is much easier than before. Food still top-notch — oyster omelette, yam paste dessert with muah chee, and fish maw soup almost must-order, then add other dishes for a really shiok meal. The place now mainly has private rooms named after countries like Chile, Mexico, China, USA, Singapore, which is great for different group sizes and gives more privacy. Friends recommended me this restaurant, but I left feeling a little mixed. On the positive side, the service was absolutely great. The manager was attentive and thoughtful, recommending the right dishes and portions for our group, and even making sure our hot tea was constantly topped up. The hospitality really stood out and made us feel well taken care of.As for the food, while there were some enjoyable dishes, a few didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. Huat Kee is our family’s favourite spot for authentic Teochew fare. Even after trying many other places, we always come back here.
