Teppanyaki is a Japanese concept kind of cuisine where your food is being cooked on a iron grill Infront of you.The Teppanyaki store at Orchard Wisma Atria although is part of the Food Republic, have it's own space and store front so you don't have to squeeze with the rest of the food court crowd when you are here. For my meal, I order the Basic Lamb Set ($9) which comes with a portion of Lamb, Vegetables, rice and a bowl of soup. The portion of vegetables and lamb is actually quite big for 1 person. Very worth.I enjoyed the lamb very much, it was well prepared and goes really well with the gravy. There was a promotion to add $1 for a drink or an extra dish as well.Best thing is, there is no gst or service charge. All the prices are nett.

I believed everyone agree with me that the smell and sizzling sound of teppan-yaki definitely grabs one's attention. So here I am, enticed by the rather economical food court price of teppan-yaki instead of restaurant. A set lunch like this with a cup of soft drink only cost me close to $10. The food is okay, where the bean sprouts serving are hugh and crunchy! The chicken is slightly blend but still soft and tender! The chicken goes with light terriyaki sauce that doesn't makes it too salty.

It's a great joy to have a meal here as we can watch the chefs demonstrate their cooking skills live. Within a few minutes, the chef is able to whip up a meal! However, the disadvantage is that it's very smokey here and the smell will stay on clothing. Hot and sizzling, straight out from the chef's cooking, my chicken drumbstick with beansprouts and soup is kind of a little too expansive. Meat, beansprouts and rice, how much can it cost and I'm being charged $11.50 for that. Yes, the meat is tender and flavourful from the burst of chili and black pepper. I think next time I should just top up like $5 to order their set which have more variety of meat, eg, fish, squid, scallop, oyster. Seems more value for money.
