The Burger Bar at Far East Plaza had its 1st Anniversary. To celebrate this occasion, there was a offer of $1 burger. I had been to Burger Bar several times but to miss this good offer deal was too hard to resist. When I reached the Bar at 12.45pm, there was already 47 order ahead. It meant every one minutes, there was at least one order. The crowd was manageable. For this occasion, the boss had deployed more staff in the kitchen. I ordered sesame bun and honey oat bun to go with lettuce and the choices of meat were pork and grilled chicken. I did not intend to eat the burger for my lunch. Instead, I was planning to consume them as my dinner. However, to have the burger prepare and pack for 4 hours ahead would mean that the burger will be soggy. An idea that came to me was to separate all the ingredient which meant to pack the meat, lettuce and buns separately. I brought some clean empty boxes and told the kitchen staff to pack the food in the food. The staff accommodated to my means. When I reached home, my bun was still good. It was not wet as the meat was not packed with the bun. The only thing that I noticed was that my box of lettuce was wet. If I had placed the lettuce on the bun, I would expect that the bun will be soggy. Another thing that I noticed was that there was a hole on the pork. This mean when the kitchen staff was grilling the meat, they used a stick to test if the meat is cooked. I heated up the meat and I packed all the ingredient into the bun and ready to be served. Wah! The bun was still as good as it was served at the restaurant. Good offer should not miss.

Visited The Burger Bar at Far East. Probably the best burger in town because you get to customize your own burger! From truffle sauce to portobello mushrooms to a wide array of toppings to go with, ordering is really easy with their iPad! Customers get to choose between beef, mutton, pork and grilled chicken as their patty. Feeling hungry? Just add another patty! Really worth a try, because you get to customize the burger (:

The burger bar was actually under fat boys, but i prefer fat boys like 100 times more. This place was so small and lack of seats, you feel so stress when you talk to your friends cause there are a lot of customers eyeing for your seats. sad The self order concept was great, i actually find it more convenient using ipad. BUT the choice are so limited. I order chicken and it was quite hard to chew on too! The standard was so much different from fat boys! sad Other plus point is there offers meal that are cheaper than fat boys.

Fancy a bite after a long shopping journey in Far East Plaza? Head down to Fat Boy's Burger Bar for a decent affordable meal! Its a basically a quaint little cafe that of course sells primarily burgers. The highlight of the Burger Bar is that everything is customizable: You get to pick everything you want, from the bun, to the meat, to the condiments. Its great as it complements the customers and allows you to choose whatever you're fancying at the moment. This is a burger with: Honey oat bun with pork patty, with toppings: Monterey Jack cheese, sautéed shitake mushrooms, grilled bananas, caramelised onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, with mayonnaise and peanut butter! As you can see, if you go overboard and order a little too much, your burger will be huge and unsightly, so go easy on your add ons! If you're a carnivore, feel free to add in more meat! The pork patty went pretty well the peanut butter sauce, although I won't recommend putting mayonnaise and peanut butter together. It's a pretty weird mash up but to each his own! They do offer sides such as fries and onion rings and desserts such as brownies with ice cream. Do keep in mind that its a pretty small shop and has very little sitting space, so you might have to order take out but considering how awesome the place is, its really well worth the trouble!

There were still ample of empty spaces left in our stomach after enjoying the petite portions of french cuisine nearby as our dinner in Far East Plaza and we decided to walk around for some bites. We chanced upon the burger bar which looked rather interesting and paused for a moment. The outlook of the bar looks funky looking with some cute characters drew on the wall. It's checkered tilings was blended well into its theme color, black and white. Shop area was not very big and can only accommodate up to 12 pax which includes 2 4-seaters table and 4 other seat by the side of the wall. The idea of making my own burger had never come across my mind especially in Singapore where fast food are so easily available, prepacked and standardize. What most amazed me was that they had actually created an application on Ipad (available on 2 sets of ipad at the burger bar), suggesting customers to "build" their own burgers there. Implementing the use of the shopping cart experience system, its indeed very convenient and familiar to someone who had done online shopping before. Process of customizing burger was systematic, from choosing the type of bun, meat patty to even sauces add on just with a few triggers of the radio buttons. Sophisticated! When you are done with your choice, just click on "check out" and proceed to the cashier (And yes! At least there are still human touch)A fridge was placed next to the counter, out of convenience, we grabbed a jar of Tiramisu. As seen from the picture above, the fridge was covered with a shade/screen, it was rather a good idea as it maintains the chillness, keeps the cool air within the system and not affecting the one who is sitting in front of it.Bundled and tied up in a glass jar, Tiramisu Hero was real good, much more than I had expected. It had an acceptable amount of alcohol content followed by a well controlled wetness level. The sweetness strikes a perfect balance between the pillow soft Tiramisu layers and the liquor. Yums!Cost: S$7.50Too bad that one cant customized Tiramisu through the ipad. Not to disappoint, customizations can be done through the Tiramisu Hero Website. We did not have anything fanciful and had just only built the basic of a burger, bun, meat, vegetables (pickles, lettuce, tomatoes) and sauce at no additional cost but it's all satisfiable enough.Opted brown Honey Oat bun for our Hamburger, paired with its juicy, thick & mouthwatering pork patty. Delicious! *Slurps*. Come to think about it, it is less often we get to find pork patty available in burgers outlet and this is such a rare find!Cost: S$6.50 Funny tins were displayed on the walls as part of the bar's decorations and i just cant hide my smiles after looking at them. Serviettes and essential items are all self help at the near by counter. Given an option of mix-and-match burger, it definitely attracts food pedant who are consciously aware their food intakes and those who likes to make their own burger. Having seen and tasted its quality, I would say that pricing is very comfortable, moreover the portions are "fat". This place is highly recommendable for its quality, price and portion!
