The Burger Bar at Far East Plaza had its 1st Anniversary. To celebrate this occasion, there was a offer of $1 burger. I had been to Burger Bar several times but to miss this good offer deal was too hard to resist.

When I reached the Bar at 12.45pm, there was already 47 order ahead. It meant every one minutes, there was at least one order. The crowd was manageable. For this occasion, the boss had deployed more staff in the kitchen.

I ordered sesame bun and honey oat bun to go with lettuce and the choices of meat were pork and grilled chicken. I did not intend to eat the burger for my lunch. Instead, I was planning to consume them as my dinner. However, to have the burger prepare and pack for 4 hours ahead would mean that the burger will be soggy. An idea that came to me was to separate all the ingredient which meant to pack the meat, lettuce and buns separately. I brought some clean empty boxes and told the kitchen staff to pack the food in the food. The staff accommodated to my means.

When I reached home, my bun was still good. It was not wet as the meat was not packed with the bun. The only thing that I noticed was that my box of lettuce was wet. If I had placed the lettuce on the bun, I would expect that the bun will be soggy.

Another thing that I noticed was that there was a hole on the pork. This mean when the kitchen staff was grilling the meat, they used a stick to test if the meat is cooked.

I heated up the meat and I packed all the ingredient into the bun and ready to be served. Wah! The bun was still as good as it was served at the restaurant.

Good offer should not miss.

I was at Far East Plaza and decided to revisit the Burger Bar for lunch. I have being to Burger Bar many times and noticed that the crew was not the usual one which I saw. I was at Far East Plaza and decided to revisit the Burger Bar for lunch. I have being to Burger Bar many times and noticed that the crew was not the usual one which I saw. She was a young lady serving me at the counter and a masculine man working inside the kitchen, facing the hot grilled plate.

This time I ordered Brioche Bun with lam and choices of vegetables were shredded lettuce, tomato slice and pickles and a mug of French fries. The total cost is $10.

While waiting for my lunch to be served, I watched around the environment . I noticed for every 30 minutes, there is an expectation of customers to order burger. This shows the turnover rate was moderate.

I noticed that there is an ice cream and cookies fridge. I don’t know what ice cream as there do not see any customers eating the ice cream. However, the customers will pick up a bottle of canned drink such as Coke, mineral water. The drink costs $2.

At last my burger arrived. The French Fries were long, with a length of 5 cm and thickness of 1 cm. The fries were not fried till dry. There were some flesh and potato meat to bite. When the fries dipped with Heinz chilli sauce, the taste was perfect.

The burger wonderfully looked pretty. The bun was fair and yet soft. Fair as it was not overbaked but only the bottom part of the bun. When opened to see the ingredient, the lamb, the meat portion has thickness of 1 cm. It is minced lamb with onion. When eating lamb, one can never run away the smell of lamb. The meat was soft and juicy. I am not a red meat eater yet I considered the burger was well done. The only to get rid of the smell is to spread chilli sauce on the burger.

The vegetable was generous with large portion especially the pickle. This time, I could taste the sour pickle taste. That was what I want to neutralize the heavy meat portion.

I took my time to enjoy my meal as I was not in the rush to head to any way. I took about 30 minutes to enjoy the meal.

Visited The Burger Bar at Far East. Probably the best burger in town because you get to customize your own burger! From truffle sauce to portobello mushrooms to a wide array of toppings to go with, ordering is really easy with their iPad! Customers get to choose between beef, mutton, pork and grilled chicken as their patty. Feeling hungry? Just add another patty! Really worth a try, because you get to customize the burger (:

I revisited the Fat Burger at Far East Plaza as I had a $10 voucher to consume. This time, I ordered the seasame bun with pork and 3 types of vegetables ie shredded lettuce, tomato slice and prickles. The burger costs $6.50 and side order – French fried costs $3.50. The wait was about 10 minutes as the crowd had not rolled in. The burger and the fried were presented in a tray to me. The bun was just an ordinary bun when sesame seeds spread on top of the bun. The French fried was long and thick. I enjoyed the fried more than the bun.

The choice of bread that I had was Honey Oat bun and with grilled chicken. I selected tomatoe slices, shredded lettuce and pickle as my vegetables.
When the food was presented to me, I was excited to see the meal was the well displayed in a mini tray with a box of fried and the burger. The burger is thick, hot and juicy. I have never tasted such authentic burger. It is as good as a dish. The fried is long and thick and fried till golden. I enjoyed this burger meal.

This is a burger with: Honey oat bun with pork patty, with toppings: Monterey Jack cheese, sautéed shitake mushrooms, grilled bananas, caramelised onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, with mayonnaise and peanut butter! As you can see, if you go overboard and order a little too much, your burger will be huge and unsightly, so go easy on your add ons! If you're a carnivore, feel free to add in more meat! The pork patty went pretty well the peanut butter sauce, although I won't recommend putting mayonnaise and peanut butter together. It's a pretty weird mash up but to each his own!

They do offer sides such as fries and onion rings and desserts such as brownies with ice cream. Do keep in mind that its a pretty small shop and has very little sitting space, so you might have to order take out but considering how awesome the place is, its really well worth the trouble!

The idea of making my own burger had never come across my mind especially in Singapore where fast food are so easily available, prepacked and standardize. What most amazed me was that they had actually created an application on Ipad (available on 2 sets of ipad at the burger bar), suggesting customers to "build" their own burgers there. Implementing the use of the shopping cart experience system, its indeed very convenient and familiar to someone who had done online shopping before. Process of customizing burger was systematic, from choosing the type of bun, meat patty to even sauces add on just with a few triggers of the radio buttons. Sophisticated! When you are done with your choice, just click on "check out" and proceed to the cashier (And yes! At least there are still human touch)

A fridge was placed next to the counter, out of convenience, we grabbed a jar of Tiramisu. As seen from the picture above, the fridge was covered with a shade/screen, it was rather a good idea as it maintains the chillness, keeps the cool air within the system and not affecting the one who is sitting in front of it.

Bundled and tied up in a glass jar, Tiramisu Hero was real good, much more than I had expected.

It had an acceptable amount of alcohol content followed by a well controlled wetness level. The sweetness strikes a perfect balance between the pillow soft Tiramisu layers and the liquor. Yums!

We did not have anything fanciful and had just only built the basic of a burger, bun, meat, vegetables (pickles, lettuce, tomatoes) and sauce at no additional cost but it's all satisfiable enough.

Given an option of mix-and-match burger, it definitely attracts food pedant who are consciously aware their food intakes and those who likes to make their own burger. Having seen and tasted its quality, I would say that pricing is very comfortable, moreover the portions are "fat". This place is highly recommendable for its quality, price and portion!

The first burger: Honey Oat Bun, beef, second patty at $4.50, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato slice, pickles, bacon and mayonnaise.

The beef is a better choice as compared to the pork patty. It was nicely grilled to give it the flavor and juiciness. Having a double patty might not be a good choice. The patties are of certain thickness thus it can be quite filling. And, it was a little messy to eat mainly due to the excessive juiciness and oiliness.

The second burger: Brioche bun, pork, monetary jack cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato slice, pickles, mayonnaise.

The pork patty is definitely a new try though it was not my first time having a pork patty. First thing to note, it was not as flavorful as expected. The monetary jack cheese does complement the taste quite a bit.

The total bill is $25.00. It is slightly expensive but the quality of these burgers is definitely worth the price.

We absolutely enjoyed the burgers. The fun part of it is the customization of our very own burger.

I heard that they sell Tiramisu in a Jar here that is quite nice so came here for a try. When I stepped in, I realized that everything requires self service. After I took the jar and stood at the counter, nobody came out after I waited for some time. The shop is quite small and lack of staff. I waited for about 10mins for someone to appear at the counter. The tiramisu was a bit expensive, but tasted not bad, quite creamy and nice, but service not that good.

Orders are placed via a touchscreen. the fries were average only and I was expecting more from them. The burger on the other hand was quite yummy but oily. The bread (ordered the butter bread) also turned soggy halfway through the meal. Overall, it is worth a try if you are around that area. They also sell tiramisu cake in a jar at $7.50 but I was too full to try it anymore.

Any self-respecting burger fan will HAVE to try Burger Bar by Fatboy's! Located conveniently at far east plaza, it's one of the more accessible fatboy's. The shop is really small though, probably no more than a 15 seater, and you'd have to share seats. The benches are black, with really adorable doodle-drawings on the wall. Ordering is via the iPad, where you get to customise your burger, from the sauces, sides and vegetables you'd like.

I chose the Wholemeal bun, with a chicken filling, lettuce, tomato, pickles, a chipotle sauce, and a side of fries + a drink($10.90 in total, after the 50c upgrade of sauce and the upgrade to a meal). They boast that they have the BEST fries, and really, I don't see why not.

The chicken is really juicy (REALLY, JUICY) and the flavour just bursts in your mouth when you take a bite. I like the wholemeal bun as it's more textured compared to a normal sesame one. The chipotle is more high on flavour as compared to a honey mustard dressing that I tried previously (honey mustard is also runnier :/ causing my burger wrapping to drip that flavoursome goodness!)

The fries are really fantastic! It's a fluffy, potato texture, with the outside fried crisp and golden. You can choose to add on a sauce for 50c, but I'm perfectly fine with Tabasco. What I like was that the fries were very lightly salted, just the way that I like it. It's also a sizeable portion, ^ (as you can see from the photo they really pile the paper bowl up!!)

Service is also awesome! The staff is really helpful in the ordering and processing of the payments. i'll definitely go back again for the great food! Pity that the space is so small, I'd have liked to chill out more than worry about the other patrons waiting to take over my seat. Yikes.

I recommend the chicken burger (WAY better than the beef!!!) and do yourself a favour, GET THE FRIES! You can worry about the calories later.

It’s a pretty small shop that only has two tables good for groups of 4 and 4 single counter seats that are cramped, so do bear in mind that fact if you are intending to visit.

I ordered a a Grilled Chicken Cheeseburger with a Honey Oat Bun with shredded lettuce, pickles, bacon, caramalised onions and sauteed mushrooms with Smoked Chipotle sauce. Went for Monterey Jack cheese as they allow you to choose which cheese to go with the burger. Chicken patty was fresh, juicy and succulent and the other condiments were also executed well and complimented the burger. Was also neat enough to eat with your barehands.

For a side, I chose to order Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. It was sinful at its best and incredibly addictive. The batter was crispy; the cheese was just stringy and extremely chewy. One of the best that I had ever had.
