Just got some errands done at Holland Village and while walking back to mrt station, i got hungry. Spotted umisushi so decide to have a quick meal.Bought a bowl of beancurd udon soup! Simple and good. Udon texture, beancurd and seaweed  were ok and makes a decent bowl of heart-warming udon! Warms me up nicely as i was feeling a bit under the weather that day and was craving for some hot soupy stuff.

The best thing about Umisushi is that it's cheap, so you can't have too high expectations of the fish. When I eat here I usually stick to the vegetarian sushi (kappa maki, tamago, the japanese pickle ones). It's the same price as buying it at the supermarket and at least you have somewhere to sit! They also sell canned drinks for about $1.50, so you can have a sushi lunch for under $10. I'm pretty satisfied when I stick to the veg stuff, but the times I've tried the unagi I've been disappointed

just had lunch at holland village then on the way back i passed by umisushi and decided to get the marinated octopus for snack later. i think the octopus was nice and chewy but the bad thing was that the sauce was too salty and concentrated. the sauce was too pasty that i had to rinse away the sauce before eating the octopus
