Craving for a soupy lunch, I was temped to try out the Japanese Udon of Umisushi. So this beancurd udon was quite disappointing as it is really bad. The soup base taste literally like soya sauce, and its udon is so hard to bite. Furthermore, the beancurd taste rather sweet. So when sweet mets salty, the combination taste weird and is not that appealing. However, it comes with quite abit of seaweed which is still nice to chew on. The overall taste of this bowl of udon ($3.50) was average. There were some beancurd skin in it which had some sweetness in it. The japanese fishcakes were smooth and a great complement too. The soup was lightly flavoured but drinking too much of it made me feel jerlat. I will probably just stick to the sushi!

This box of assorted sushi costs $4+ (close to $5). The tamago was well sweetened and had a soft and smooth texture. The fish roe wasn't salty. The eel was too thinly sliced and the texture was not smooth. The salmon tasted sufficiently fresh. The rice would have tasted better if it has lesser vinegar in it.

curry tori katsu udon $5.60the udon was quite soft, perhaps very slightly overcooked and thus did not have a chewy-like texture. The gravy was not at all spicy and was a tad diluted. It'll have been better if the curry gravy was thicker and richer. The chicken cutlet on the other hand was tender and not at all oily. The thickness of the batter was just right. The whole dish was not salty but sufficiently flavoured. Overall it is worth a try but price is on the high side.

unagi sushi :the unagi was well-seasoned but the it was sliced very thinly and I could feel a really small bone when I bit into it.salmon sushi $1.70: the salmon sashimi was also sliced very thinly and did not have much kick when eaten.sushi set $4.30: this box contains an assorted variety of sushi. all tasted average.salmon skin $1.70this is always sold out by late afternoon and low in stock. The salmon skin is deep-fried and battered. It was a little salty but makes a great afternoon snack.

chawanmushi $1.90The chawanmushi was served cold and was really salty. The mixture tasted like a blend of steamed egg and soy sauce.lobster sushi $2.20Even though it looked mushy, it fortunately did not taste that way. The taste of wasabi in it was just right. tamago sushi $1.80 (sweetened egg)The tamago was not bad and I could also taste the vinegar in the rice. It is a great place to satisfy one's sushi cravings in school.
