Wang Cafe first started off in Bugis in 1953 and was known as Wang Jiao. Over the years, it has restructured, revamped and rebranded itself and is now known as Wang Cafe. There was also a long queue as there was only one counter. I ordered the Chicken Macaroni Set which comes along with drink, Kaya Butter Toast and Chicken Macaroni Toast. Changed the drink to Milo.

This was what was served. Nothing fantastic about the milo and toast. In fact, the standard of the toast was terrible when compared to Ya Kun's version.

The reason why I ordered Chicken Macaroni was because, I had wanted something soupy and is a Chinese dish (before I fly off to Europe).

The Chicken Macaroni was disappointing. The portion of chicken and macaroni given was pathetic and the soup was laden with MSG.

I can't believe that I wasted my last meal in Singapore having such food.. Even the food on the airplane tasted so much better. I am boycotting Wang Cafe.

I hope no one would be offended by the 'harsh' honest post..

My family and I were going away for a long holiday and we decided to eat at this eatery as we will most probably not be able to find these food overseas! It was breakfast hour so it was a little packed and I think the staff were a little stressed as they seem frustrated. This made most customers jumpy as most of us, if not all, had a plane to catch and I don't think we appreciate the loud anxious voices in the morning. I ordered the chicken macaroni as I wanted something hot but not too much/too little. The serving size was just right (for the moment) but if I was eating it as a meal, I would've wanted more to fill my stomach. There were a lot of vegetables but the chicken seems to be missing.. I only saw some of it down at the bottom of the bowl. I think I prefer the one where I ate at the previous time. Or perhaps, I was fairly bothered by the wait staff that I wasn't able to enjoy my meal properly.

I think the next time round, we'll probably head over to other eateries to avoid these waiters.

While waiting for my flight, I got a bit hungry. So, I walked around and looked for something light to eat. I saw Wang Cafe and from the menu, they had a lot of noodle dishes. So, I decided to order the fishball noodle soup. I didn't have to wait too long for my order to arrive. However, they forgot about my drink. So I had to ask the cashier where it was. As for the noodles, it seriously lacked taste! It seemed like I was just drinking hot water. The drink was too sweet I had to ask the server

Breakfast at Wang Cafe brought back a lot of memories. The breakfast set came with kaya toast, soft boiled egg and a hot beverage. It reminded me of my school days whereby my mum would made soft boiled eggs and bread for breakfast. I would add soy sauce and pepper to the soft boiled eggs and then dipped the bread into it. Located at the departure hall, the cafe is also very good for people watching while you sip your cup of coffee.

I waited quite some time for the toast to be ready. The milk tea was served quite quickly in a small styrofoam cup. The cup was really small, not the usual size. The milk tea tasted normal, not especially fragrant. But the toast was worth waiting for, because it was really crispy and good. The butter inside had not totally melt and was cold, but taken together with the hot freshly toasted bread, it was yummy because the butter melted in your mouth. It was a great breakfast meal.

Wanted to have a quick lunch before bringing back my lttile girl for her afternoon nap. Decided to settle down at Wang's as she wanted to eat bread. I had ordered a bowl of mee rebus and laksa each, one for myself and the other for my hubby. Took the bowl of laksa at first , and realised it taste quite dilute so I changed it with my hubby. The bowl of mee rebus was much better , but lacking of something to make it stand out of the crowd. I think my girl had chosen the best lunch among us

My family and I were at the airport and had only 20 minutes left to grab a quick bite in the morning before going on board. Surroundings also included Polar, Soup Spoon, sushi, etc but we decided on having kaya toast instead. The kaya toast are of the traditional ones, thin slices of bread, charcoal toasted and spread with sliced butter and kaya(a.k.a. coconut egg jam). It was pretty good, the bread wasn't too hard and was crispy to my liking. The kaya was fragrant too and not too sweet.
