Friends who know me well enough will know that I don't like Korean food... not that I have anything against them but it's just that their tastes are too strange. Not for me. The only one that I liked was the Korean stall in Hall 13 (NTU) but it was because it tasted like tze char. This time, I decided to give it another chance since my friend strongly recommended this new stall that recently opened at The Quad. The aunties manning the stall were SUPER EFFICIENT. The aunties manning the stall were SUPER EFFICIENT. There were 7 items on the list and then the auntie just asked everyone in the queue (at least 10+ people) to order by shouting our orders. Then I got my order within 5 minutes even though I was quite far behind the queue.
I orderd the Spicy Beef Rice Set ($4.50) and look at this set! It is so worth it - it has the kimchi slices, fried sweet ikan bilis, soup, a bowl of rice and a hotplate of spicy beef. Where can you find such a good deal? What's more The Quad is air-conditioned... I love this - the spicy beef is not too spicy and very fragrant. There wasn't the strong beef taste, and the texture was as tender as chicken. Very well done and definitely a hidden find in NTU. Will definitely be back for more. P/S: My friend ordered a $5 Steamed Chicken Rice set meal which has the kimchi slices, fried sweet ikan bilis, soup, a bowl of rice and a huge portion of half a chicken in soup! Wow. I'm definitely impressed.
