Last sat the family attended the Chinese New Year dinner organized by Sembawang Community Centre. My favourite dish tonight as the chicken was fork tender and the soup was very flavourful. Mixed Vegetables in Lo Han Style 罗汉烩上素
The cabbage was well braised and very soft in texture. Braised 'LingZhi' Mushroom with Spinach 灵芝菇扒波菜
Another well cooked vegetable dish. The huge mushroom slice was very tender. Boiled Live Prawns 龙马精神
The prawns were fat and juicy. Lotus Leaf Rice 长年益寿
It looked like fried rice with the dried sausage and dried shrimps, wrapped in lotus leaf. A bit too salty in certain parts. Not balance in taste. Chilled Longans & Pineapples 龙凤呈祥
Looked like something straight out from the cans.
Overall the food was not bad especially when it was catered for 1280 people. Drinks was refilled often.
